Wasn't the worst penalty in the world but he shaped up IMO to go to the keepers left and think most decent keepers would have stood a good chance with it. However if he had of scored I would be banging on about what a class penalty it was. |
I have to agree. Not the best pen and he did telegraph it a bit but he struck it well, kept it low and fired it towards the corner. No one scores every pen.
On a more general note, it's time some fans gave him a break. He has been a revelation for us, has put his past petulance behind him and has tried his hardest, yet still some fans aren't satisfied. I don’t know what he has to do to satisfy those people. Come on, he may be a professional sportsman but he knew that pen was massive, he mustn’t been bricking it, I would’ve been.
Finally, it was clear even before his talk of sleepless nights that he cares. You can see it in his disappointment and anguish when things go wrong on the pitch and you can see it when he looks around him and accepts that he may just may to win some games on his own.
