Like Charlie has said, i to have meet a lot of posters from this board in person, and although we have differing views on various subjects, to a man they have been a pleasure to know.Maybe a few more on here could try it. As for the posters who offer opinions from watching a 6 by 4 screen on matchdays i do struggle at times to see how you reach those decisions.Take yesterdays game.Every stream i checked(about 12)there was a lag in play and how you make out one player from the next is beyond me.They all looked the same until a replay was shown.

This Messageboard on 13:58 - Sep 24 with 1623 views | MoonshineSteve | I used to post on here a lot. Now I post rarely. Two points mainly: 1. There are too many people on here unable to have a sensible discussion. Reasonable people can disagree reasonably, but it seems to be increasingly the case that a differing opinion has to be made by belittling the other person or belittling their opinion rather than addressing what they disagree with. The sort of behaviour most adults stop shortly after they leave school. 2. There are the WUMs, the posters who just take the opposing view to anything just for the sake of a row. They seem to think they're being clever and/or intellectually provocative, but are actually just really boorish and boring. As mentioned above though, not much the mods can do about that. Don't want press censorship. Just means some posters enjoy Clive's articles, seek info on rumours, but don't bother to post much any more.

This Messageboard on 14:07 - Sep 24 with 1600 views | Bluce_Ree | 1. Login thing going back to the front page. Must stop. 2. Sections. Seriously this forum needs sections. QPR chat/off-topic chat. At least that way I've got a fighting chance of finding an old thread that I want to update. Because it's all in one big section threads are lost too easily. 3. Search function. 4. See user's previous posts/topics started. 5. Lose the f**king swear filter. Please. Take away my swearing and I lose at least 90% of my f**king personality. 6. Away fans section. A bit like the Palace BBS. Keep all this Fulham sh1te well away from the QPR chat. 7. Sticky the 'INteresting' thread. Just for Hucker's awesome Dusty Bin post.

I for one love this site. As of course I can only watch matches on the internet, I am grateful that I can read the opinions of those who actually attend matches. Thanks all.

I agree with daggers and would add there are a few "socialists" on here who claim the moral high ground but abuse people for their opinion ad I mean abuse. Still takes all sorts innit. I don't see how someone watches a game can define a problem but that's been a bone of contention on here for many a year. Certainly can actually watch every single game now we're "top flight". Must agree with Sharpy on the lack of stream quality for the Spurs game, tried loads, all shyte really. Watched the game on match choice later for a better view of the game. As for being there, these days I see very little, can't thing why. It's also clear that being there offers the opportunity for completely different views of incidents and therefore never a consensus, this only happens at away games where the view is the same and opinions can also be formed by those screaming for a foul/penalty/nose picking whatever it is. As also said, I've met a number of posters from here over the years and they are all vvankers, including me! With the exception of the bloke we foisted ourselves on at a table outside the Adelaide whilst regaling the deer costume in Richmond Park, he was from Hampshire and his poster name will come to me at some point. All this messageboard malarkey should be fun shouldn't it? That is all

This articulates my thoughts exactly. Although I still post fairly regularly I avoid the site at certain times, like after a defeat or if some particular news comes out causing mass panic. Also, I echo certain sentiments above like meeting people, I met Charlie on Sunday and it makes it alot easier putting a face to the words. I know for example that he is a nice chap in real life that has questionable judgement in shirt sizes ;-) I also appreciate people that 'go to games' would get a better overall picture of the game but this is also skewed by 2 people at the game having completely different views on what they are seeing. The point is not about having differing opinions, it is as Dagenham says, producing something coherent without belittling others so we can have a reasonable debate rather than a slagging match. Also on the technical side, a search bar, this would reduce repeat posts and allow us to add to existing discussions [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Well this is it.I'd like to know what the definition of "sensible " is for starters.I wouldn't want to see a diminuition of the humour.Personally I'd love to meet other posters,if only to compare inside leg measurements.

This Messageboard on 14:20 - Sep 24 with 1557 views | daib0 | I'm an away fan in peace, and I enjoy it. Good chat from you guys ... If I'm honest, the only thing for me would be to slightly categorize the topics, because if you're not on for 48 hours you lose what you were looking at previously. Instead a having such a single huge forum, I'd humbly suggest three: 1] QPR chat 2] General football news 3] Other sports and general current 'life' issues 'Away' fans might then be encouraged to post in 'General Football' and not give opinions on things like QPR transfers or ticket policies when we obviously know far less than you guys do on this (as a mod on a Reading forum I'm acutely aware of the inter-reaction between home and opposition fans!) But you've a very nice site, I did look around at a number of others before getting in contact first of all ...

This Messageboard on 14:32 - Sep 24 with 1515 views | Northernr | Good post Daggers. Thoughts on some of the other points made.... 1 - Log in going back to the front page. Again, a techi thing and I was hoping to keep this discussion to content but yes it is bloody annoying, particularly when using the site on a phone, and will hopefully be corrected when the new version launches. Same with a search function. Hopefully the same with a 'merge thread' option for me, because then I can go through and merge posts on the same topic without nagging people about looking down the board to see if there is an existing thread. 2 - Separate sections. Not happening, sorry, unless literally everybody on the site wanted this I wouldn't even consider it for several reasons. First of all the idea behind the board is it's like an online pub, where everybody sits around and talks about everything without somebody coming along and saying "if you want to talk about that you have to go to the other room". Second of all, whenever boards are seperated there is always one section that is used a lot more than the others, so people who want their post seen will put it in the busy board regardless, and then rightly moan when it gets moved. Third, it just becomes a stream of arguments about what is a QPR topic and what is a general football topic - Gareth Ainsworth new Wycombe manager for instance, where's that going? Southampton get first win of the season is presumably general football but also directly affects QPR. It's also time consuming for me when I'd much rather just let you all get on with it with minimal modding and me get on with writing copy. Four - if we had an away fans section at the moment it would have one Fulham fan, one Reading fan, and that Chelsea clunge twice a season. 3 Swear filter Agree, needs to go, in keeping with the 'pub' idea. It's easily circumnavigated fck sht cnt etc but it's annoying and childish. The idea that there are loads of eight year olds waiting around on football message boards to be mortally offended by reading a swear word is a nonsense.
This Messageboard on 14:34 - Sep 24 with 1510 views | Northernr | I think to be honest one thing that would help is if I shut up for a bit. Because we only have one moderator, and it's me, I'm on here pretty much all the time making sure nothing is kicking off and therefore I'll respond to most threads. I'm always pretty straightforward and blunt with my point of view and I think having the guy that runs the site on every thread, sometimes disagreeing with people in a forthright manner probably isn't the most helpful and welcoming thing. So I'll try and keep myself in check.

Likewise every board has its agitators from Doran to Smiffy, it makes it interesting but please keep Jones off here. Re the swear filter, agree swearing should be on but hey lets have some fun with the filter to autochange words to something humorous. Lets turn it into a cliche filter
