Dear all,
It's not easy to say this so soon after penning my article about Suzy's cancer and QPR's last day of the season, but on Thursday I lost my wife.
There's nothing else to say, other than she was a beautiful person both inside and outside. No-one had a nasty word to say about her. She was truly incredible, and I was very lucky.
To all of you who have supported me in this crap: Thank you for your support. I'll still need you again come when the season starts to boost me up.

Alex, you have many people on here (some you know, some you don't) who are there to help you cope with this devastating loss.
Cancer is a mindless killer. I have lost several friends to it here, and another is presently being treated for a brain tumor. No way of knowing how successful the surgeries may be. His wife is very worried. An old schoolfriend of mine lost his wife to breast cancer some years back. She was a dear old friend of mine and was an excellent person and mother to their three children. After she died, he became bitter and reclusive. I think that seriously affected his own quality of life and his interactions with his friends. Certainly it made him much more difficult to want to stay in touch with. You will never stop missing Suzy, but do not fall into this trap as I am sure she would not have wanted your life to suffer as my friend's has done.
Statistics suggest that failure to cope with loss of a loved one can seriously affect one's quality of life and one''s own longevity. We lost a child to miscarriage a few years ago and it was very hard... for years. I still shed a tear. I cannot imagine how much harder losing your wife to cancer must be.

I've known you for years to talk to, be it in the white horse or travelling to away games, and although we haven't always seen eye to eye on certain issues, one thing that can't be denied is you are a top top human being.
You of all people don't deserve this loss mate, but just try and remember the good times you had together with your wonderful wife.
