Obviously not drilling the players on our free kicks or corners. Two of our players just stood around not knowing what to do before passing back to our half and wasting an attacking opportunity to put the game away.
On their corner, in which Ipswich equalized, we had no one on the pen line and he had all the time in the world for a shot. Yes, Aribo did bottle the shot and moved out the way, but Ipswich shouldn't have had the time on the ball.
We had the usual multi random subs come on to make us more prone to being attacked.
Although the starting eleven was marginally better than the previous four games, largely due to fortuitous injuries, these problems are down to RM . |  |

You can’t argue with that today.we played very well and dominated. It amazes me how Aribo has 3 songs dedicated to his name because he is not a premier league player . Need to do everything to manage lallana and dibling and keep them on the pitch as much as posssible this season |  | | |

I don't understand why Saints, or any other team, don't have a player there for corners or other set pieces. In recent years we've lost lots of points because of this. Surely it's a basic part of the game, especially in the higher divisions. | | | |

Dominated? We seemed to be camped in and around our own penalty area for most of the game, and only 2 brilliant saves from Ramsdale saved us from a 3-1 defeat.
We were made to look 2nd best by a very mediocre bunch of players with a much better manager. Martin's substitutions were the final nail in our coffin.

Obviously so. Ipswich had twice as many shots on target as we did and 5 times as many corners. For much of the game we didn't have one player up front within 10 yards of the halfway line. I was crying out for us to stick at least one player up front so we could relieve the siege our goal was under. Admittedly, Ipswich's finishing was as bad as ours. It was clearly a match between the 2 relegation favourites. [Post edited 21 Sep 22:58]

Normally I think he's an unhinged, ill informed, vindictive idiot whose views are totally worthless, but I do concur about our free kicks and corners. If only we had someone who could drop the ball on a sixpence in the opposition area or bang one in from 25 yards. About ten minutes later, they had another corner set up the same and once again we only had Fraser against two attackers. Same result and Hutchinson put us under pressure.

I have never warmed to RM & his ridiculous obsession with playing out from the back but is a New Manager the answer.
If he was sacked & we bring in a new man then history tells us that SR would appoint another unproven manager from a lower lge.
Albeit we had a squad plenty good enough to get us out of the Championship I don't think we have a squad capable of surviving in Premier Lge.
The acquisitions made in the summer only achieved in giving us a bigger squad but not a better team.
The exception being Ramsdale who is a big upgrade on McCarthy & Bazuna, but it'll take more than Ramsdale's heroics to keep us up. | | | |

I was going mental at that. Basics that we can’t do.
Their goal was after Diaz headed clear the corner and we had nobody on the edge of our box to clear.
Martin is a poor manager with a big ego. The longer we keep him, the less chance we have of staying up.
All out woes this season have been self-inflicted. Down to the manager. If Dragan is a ruthless businessman, he has to sack Martin. | | | |
