How many more signings will we make before the window closes? 09:57 - Aug 5 with 5763 views | Swans9 | I will go for 3 one being Rubin. I think we will get out muscled with Campbell he probably will end up at a Sheffield United or club offers best deal. I think 3 is the bare minimum we need without losing any at the same time.
How many more signings will we make before the window closes? on 10:13 - Aug 5 with 4481 views | Whiterockin | I would rather a couple of quality players rather than a load of poor signings like we did last summer, granted a couple were good but we wasted a lot of time and money. I'm going for four by the end of the window. More if either Dalling or Cullen go.

I think we definitely need 3, a centre half, attacking midfielder and a striker, but i think we will be lucky to get 1 in.

Just a hunch but I don’t think they’re our type of players but I could be totally wrong. I hope we sign this Swedish starlet and Trialist. And of course the €78m player who is having a medical as we speak so I’m told.

Missing an all round midfielder in your list Franco was used well on Saturday after about 25mins moved left but still think we need another fast more competitive player instead of Grimes or Fulton, tiring Franco was replaced in the second half by Cooper, again on the left who did well, good squad player but don't want to see him on the rightside although he has won a number of penalties during the friendlies and if Allen fit can play on the central right side role but can we rely on him.

I'd like us to line up as Grimes DM. Eom and Franco AM, two wingers and the new guy up front. In possession we seem to be Cabango and Dalling in defence, Grimes in front with Key and Tymon level with the AMs. Out of possession we seem to go 4-5-1. Is this how you saw it on Saturday.

More or less Steve Coopers line up with those 3 midfielders protecting the centre backs, can Eom do that. At the moment we are short of wingers and Eom was excellent out wide on the right I though Tymon didn't get close enough to his winger and similarly Grime didn't get to grips in the middle when Franco was in front of him, changed when Franco went to the left hand side defended the midfield well and reduced the supply to their winger. Think we have more pace out wide than we had with Steve Coopers team and saw with Grimes playing in the midfield he needed workers alongside him, he ended up with Hourihane, for me I do not want to rely on Grime defensive skills which are hampered by his lack of pace Happy to play 4-5-1 in defence because it seems as if we have the pace to counterattack, hopefully enhanced by the new blood [Post edited 5 Aug 17:06]

Of the four "poor" signings last season Mykolo and Yates have gone on loan to improve. Mykolo was noted as a development player when he arrived. Ntoe and Pederson are still at the club and are not bad players from what i have seen of them Pederson offers versatility and csn play CB. Ntoe bring commercial benefits and was pretty solid and sharp when I saw him. It is clear to me recruitment has moved onto a different level.

I don't think one can judge the level of recruitment until competitive games have begun. It would be good to know who has had the major say on signings - Watson or Luke...................

I dont think it’s as black and white as that. I would of thought the manager would say earlier in the season to the recruitment team these are the positions and type of players needed for next season so go away and find them, they both have to be on the same page otherwise everything falls apart
How many more signings will we make before the window closes? on 06:23 - Aug 7 with 3073 views | Swans9 | If we desperate last minute do we just take a punt. Is Danny ings worth a go because he is at the end of his career at west ham. The squad a balance between developing players and bringing in proven quality. Look how well Lorente done for us at the end of his career in the prem keeping us up with goals off his shoulder and knee. They all count. [Post edited 7 Aug 6:25]

Good player but another with a poor injury record and irrelevant really as his wages will be way too high

I hope he (and we) are not going to be disappointed. “We tried to get signings over the line but just couldn’t do the deals in time because we are tight fisted owners who really only care about the money” ‘I’m off” - Williams

I think so as well. I think Providence will happen and an outside chance of the Swedish lad, outside of that I think we will cover the other positions with loans. Would love to be wrong though.

I reckon we are waiting to see where permanent signings finish first.....especially given Lukes words today more about quality than "filling numbers "

I think we are waiting for the Premier League clubs to settle their squads and then see who they want to loan out.

Your first line, I agree 100%. The signings we have made may look good n paper but how good they actually are we just wont know until at least 10 games in. They may be along the lines of Angel Rangel or they could be a bunch of Tommy Muttons and we could be more like Lambs to the slaughter than high flying Swans. All we can do is wait and see. PS, Hw many more, well I think we need at least 4, a keeper, CB, CDM and a striker but I reckon we'll manage 2 at best and maybe then a foray into the loan market. PPS, please no, not Grimes at CDM, he slows us down too much. Push hom forward, unleash him, give him a free role with instructions to attack. That's why I say we need a CDM not a CAm because I want Grimes well away from our back 4. [Post edited 8 Aug 19:45]

How many more signings will we make before the window closes? on 21:47 - Aug 8 with 1536 views | GVJack | I've obviously missed it but who's this Swedish lad we're interested in? LW has said:- “I think probably realistically we are four really good players away from the ideal numbers,” he said. “[That is] players who will make us better rather than just filling the squad - that’s no good to us. So obviously looking for 4 signings to go straight into the first team. So question is... Which 7 players does he consider as his bankers to start the season? Who's at risk of dropping down the pecking order?
How many more signings will we make before the window closes? on 21:56 - Aug 8 with 1497 views | Dr_Winston | If we assume that at present Cullen and Cooper are likely first team regulars, then they are the obvious two to drop out. Otherwise it's more squad depth that is the concern. We've got a pretty good starting XI if everyone is fit plus four or five others, but after that it starts getting pretty thin unless we start including players like Abdulai, which we probably will but it's nicer to have the option not to depend on them.
