BIden v Trump - and we thought our options were poor !! 10:41 - Jun 29 with 60288 viewsnumptydumpty

Has anyone seen the "Car Crash" performance of Joe Biden in his live TV debate v Trump.

Many times, he lost his train of thought. Often, he was.out of breath and many times he wasn't focusing.

This man is the so called leader of the developed world.

And he is going to get trounced, big time by Donald Trump, who could be beaten quite easily by a mediocre politician.

I really can't see how Americans can feel about their leaders in anyway that is positive whatsoever.

But this debate was shocking.

It will all be fine. It's the current US leaders and NATO who are the problem. Ukraine will be sorted and that will be the end of that. Putin has absolutely no interest in anything other than what he has already stated. I don't believe the media nonsense about him wanting to take over the world and all that claptrap. That's just stuff spouted solely to justify selling (or donating, using our taxes to pay for them) even more weapons to Ukraine.

Trump is not a problem to world peace. Quite the opposite in fact (he'll bring an end to all the wars the US and NATO are starting at their paymasters behest)

Tend to agree with this line of thought.

The Russians lost 25 million people supporting us in two world wars, more than any other nation. The Russian people are very much like us, in thought and culture, and the war in Ukraine makes absolutely no sense. Whilst this war goes on, the Southern Hemisphere is being enriched through Russian exports which carry on regardless of so called sanctions. Itā€™s mindless.

Someone, and that will be a US President, has a duty to bring this war to an end. That wont be Biden.

They lost so many people because they didn't value their own peoples lives .

The Western allies had a steel not flesh policy which ultimately proved the correct course of action in keeping causalities to a minimum .

Not media nonsense about Putin wanting to extend Russian 'Imperial ' rule.
Kazakhstan is extremely concerned about Russian territorial claims on 25% of its country.
Georgia has lost 20% of its country already, occupied by Russian troops.
Belarus is a defacto Russian satellite. Russian troops and nuclear weapons now stationed there.
Moldova has 15% of its country already occupied by Russian 'peacekeepers', and will probably be fully occupied should Ukraine loose its Southern Kherson region. Moldova has no standing army.
Russian influence in Serbia increasing, stirring trouble in Bosnia.

These are facts, not made up media nonsense.

The naivety of people towards Putin today is mind boggling. Only a strong West, led by the US, supporting Ukraine and keeping Russia bogged down can keep Putin in check until he dies or is removed.

Trump is a useful idiot to Putin. Unfortunately Bidens age has caught up with him and he really should step aside.

The Chinese are the new super power.

The fact that the US put these two up as world leaders tells you everything you need to know.

A new dawn is approaching.

China is no super power, and highly unlikely to become one. It has no real sphere of influence, unlike the Soviets during the cold War, as it is almost completely surrounded by hostile states.
Those states not openly hostile, such as Russia and North Korea are not exactly easy bed fellows. Both have recent history of direct conflict with China since WW2.
It is sitting on a demographic time bomb, with the one child policy having been revoked to late to increase the percentage of working, and therefore taxable, age groups.

Locaal government debt is 13 (thirteen) trillion dollars, which is not included in the national debt.

They are fcked.

EDIT: Wilkins summed it up well. Putin is an evil c**t. Russia may have lost people "supporting us" (lol) but that's because they throw their own into the meat grinder of war. That's their tactics.

How many did Ukraine lose to Russia's famine tactics.

People like Farage who suck Putin's c**k are traitors.

Trump supporters talk about making America great but they don't care about that. They are traitors too. All Trump has done is give them a license to be pricks. He's made it okay to be an arsehole neighbour and a violent thug.

Not sure if the Soviets were your friends Allies in the second Great War , Stalin danced with Hitler, shared Poland before Nazi Germany decided to invade Russia. That turned Stalin against Hitler, and the ā€œraceā€ to Berlin was a draw with the American and British. And after the war that supporting friendship quickly disintegrated into a 40 years Cold War. It ainā€™t over yet. Having Biden or Trump as the leader of the greatest power isnā€™t very positive for the future of world politics. What can we do?

What do we do? I guess if you canā€™t engage with them and youā€™re powerless to stop them. Then all we can do is vote for what we think is right.

Voting in numbers is all we can do at this stage. Whichever side youā€™re on.

Vote for what you think is right. Forget about discussions about ā€œdemocracyā€. Voting is democracy and the more people that vote then the less power ā€˜theyā€™ have. You may not get another chance to vote if you donā€™t vote now.

Vote.

Miserable deluded sad bastards are just going to keep on lying.

Correct. Trump, if unfortunately is elected, can only serve one more four year term. No President can be elected more than twice.
This only came in after WW2 as Rosevelt served for four consecutive terms.
So yes, technically Trump could win, then Biden could return in four years. Highly unlikely though!

The only concern is if the Republicans attempt to overturn the two term limit, and with a Suprene Court now loaded with conservatives nothing can be ruled out.

Iā€™ll admit, you may well be correct.

Most of what you and Wilkins have said is fair comment, canā€™t dispute that. Just have a gut feeling that in 20 years from now we will be reflecting that we picked the wrong fight.

This country is in trouble internally, yet all eyes are focused on external events. Hopefully youā€™re right and Iā€™m wrong.

Looks like Trump is going to regain the presidency now barring a miracle.
Sad to think what the US has to come to now .
A convicted criminal. A liar, a misogynist amongst other things will likely be the template for the republicans in future. Itā€™s worked for them now and before and will work for them in the future.
The alternative However is a man who at the moment looks like heā€™s incapable of running a bath , never mind a country.

Unless, and I would not put it past him to try, he seeks to change the 22nd amendment to their blessed constitution.

It is a tall order of course, but he's the type of ignorant cock that will see the prevention as being aimed at him personally, by the founding fathers over two hundred years ago, to deny him the chance of a third term.

Of course, the bigger scare, assuming he is denied his Trump appointed right to run forever, is that his doppy son, Donald Jr., will run instead. And I'd rather Donald Duck than that so-and-so.

All of which slips by the wayside against the bigger existential threat posed by the next Republican to run being one who convinces the masses that s/he is running because God told them to do so and that s/he will seek to expedite the second coming, as it's God's will!

You're allowed two terms.

However, given the precipitous mental and physical decline that's not only clear to see, but is likely accelerated by the rigours of presidential office, four years is going to be a hell of a longtime for Joe full stop.

He will not be running again. Fair play, he really did take one for the team when he stepped up four years ago, at a time he should have been long retired. The democrats had four years to sort this, and they have not. Utter disgrace by them.

BIden v Trump - and we thought our options were poor !! on 19:06 - Jun 29 by numptydumpty

I started this thread Orthodox

We have always had a varied list of topics debated on here.

Music, other sports and general affairs etc.

And general posts when someone famous passes away etc.

Yes there is one on our general election and when covid was at its height, and zero football happening, there was some very frank exchanges going ahead.

We all follow our team but there is life outside of QPR and some of it, from my perspective, I enjoy debating about all sorts of other issues.

If some people get out of hand with sometimes some inappropriate bashing of other forum members, I think that's when some of these discussions would be challenging.

If we all remain respectful of others when stating our own personal views, I feel it's all OK but if not, I stand corrected..

Yes but with the point you make, 33% thought Biden won this particular debate - how can people legitimately believe this is so. The world is currently on a very narrow knife edge, no doubt.
[Post edited 29 Jun 19:09]

All good - it was mostly a tongue in cheek comment. I'm all for respectful debate on here but as with all similar ones in the past it has already degenerated into expletive ridden rants by those who are fully captured by the mainstream media's narrative and anyone with an opposing view will be labelled a 'Putin lover' or a 'laptop conspiracy nutjob' (funny how that conspiracy theory turned out to be true though, so hooray for the nutjobs I guess)

A poster did make a good point along the lines of only a strong West, led by the US, is what will save us going forward. I strongly agree with this statement. The US has been anything but strong for the past 4 years, and I hope that changes soon.
