Sammie Szmodics celebrated signing a new contract by helping Blackburn Rovers to victory against a resilient Birmingham City in an end-to-end Championship fixture at Ewood Park.
The Championship's leading scorer, who on Tuesday committed his future to Rovers until the end of the 2025-26 season, took his tally this season to 13 goals with a double strike during a white-hot second half in the Lancashire cold.
And in case, like me, who may have missed this on YouTube last year - take a listen to Frank Nouble and Mika Mandron interviewing "Mr Essex, Mr Colchester" in the words of Mandron, or "the special one, the chosen one" in the words of Nouble!
What a season he's having! It's a shame the video above is no longer available as it was actually an interesting watch and gave a real insight into Sammie's time here. It was even better if you were able to ignore Mandron and Nouble.
