Favourite QPR XI 11:39 - Oct 19 with 7998 views | Ranger_1969 | On a similar theme to KingsburyR's - name your all time favourite 11 players (in a team structure). Players that you would /did love to watch. The only caveat is that they wouldn't make your all time best XI. Off the top of my head mine would be:- 1. Paddy Kenny 2. David Bardsley 3. Gino Padula 4. Glenn Roeder 5. Bob Hazell 6. Dan Shittu 7. Andy Impey 8. Akos Buzsaky 9. Simon Stainrod 10. Rodney Marsh (slight cheat code here as I would have Stan as No. 10 in all time XI)! 11. Lee Cook
Favourite QPR XI on 17:11 - Oct 19 with 1628 views | kingsburyR | Stejskal - Quality keeper. Massively under rated Bardsley Parker Peacock Clive Wilson Sinclair Wilkins Tarrabt Sinton Ferdinand Helguson Never saw Bowles or Marsh play No Pattern of play (like Ainsworth) No ball winners But that lot would play you off the park Good luck to any CB's when a cross was floated into the back post!
| Dont know why we bother. .... but we do! |

Favourite QPR XI on 16:57 - Oct 19 by terryb | Absolutely true, but I had to find somewhere for Mick Leach after replacing him! Edit: I've just realised that it was Brian who had 12 players without naming one as sub! [Post edited 19 Oct 2023 16:59]

i wouldn't shame you for picking a sub! I'm not that horrible! :)

Ability wise he is the most talented footballer the club has ever had. Was the key piece in the best season for a generation. Nobody said the team had to be balanced. After all, none of our recent managers have had that as a consideration!

Not as good as Rodney IMHO - though I am of a certain age!!! Also, having Adel & Rodney in the same team would be a bit like when Fulham had Marsh & Best and they started tackling each other! They'd need a ball each [Post edited 20 Oct 2023 18:57]

Given my age missing the 70s and 80s, he'd be in my best XI so I had to leave him out of this one

Be a great match between them (quite a lot of glum faces on the bench - but what a squad): Both 4231, which leaves us open but allows more than one number ten: Best: Seaman Clement Parker, McDonald, Gillard Francis (G) Wilkins Bowles Wegerle Thomas Ferdinand Likeable: Stejskal Bardsley Peacock Maddix Wilson Masson Waddock Taarabt Gallen Eze C Allen Fenwick's unlucky not to be in the second team as a better player, but he never seemed that likeable.

Favourite QPR XI on 16:35 - Oct 19 by hubble | Okay, so: favourite, not necessarily best! 1. Kenny 2. Danny Maddix 3. Danny Shittu 4. Gino Padula 5. Clint Hill 6. Shaun Derry 7. Ale Faurlin 8. Adel Taarabt 9. Charlie Austin 10. Stan Bowles 11. Trevor Sinclair |
I think youve made a mistake at number 10 😁

Fair enough on Marsh… as in I can’t comment. Do remember being at player of the season doo at a hotel by Heathrow the year when our dinosaur fan base gave it to Kenny over Adel which sums up the posters above who have irked me. Anyway at that do was having a fag out front as Marsh left with two birds young enough to be his kids… maybe they were though ha All I have seen of Bowles was YouTube clips. Remember watching his top 10 goals for Rangers on there and it’s actually kind of laughable. Adel is just on another planet to Bowles simple as. Anyone who wants to say otherwise try and do that by comparing a Bowles best goal against an Adel best goal [Post edited 21 Oct 2023 1:04]

Favourite QPR XI on 03:44 - Oct 21 with 1135 views | SonofNorfolt | The initial post says favourite, so it's time and a place. I was just about old and lucky enough to see Rodney, and have no doubt he was the focal point that helped put our club on the map. From then on, we moved up to what these days would be stellar, all great, Dave Thomas was my hero, Parkes, Clement, Francis, Bowles, not bad, in fact all brilliant. Then Allen, Stainrod, Gregory, haircuts and swagger, most of all, Terry Fenwick, that man put a shift in every week. Macca, Maddix, Bannister then Parker to Wegerle and Les with Sinton, Wilkins and the two best full backs in the league, Bardsley and Wilson. Decline and rebirth, players who put a shift in with a modicum of flair, Padula, Furlong, and grafters/supporters like Bircham and Gallen etc Then of course to Adel, a ridiculous talent, bettered only by Ale Faurlin, pre-injury, as good as we've had in the middle of the park ever. Charlie, of course, did us proud but apart from when Willock's hammies naused his career, little else. Parkes Clement Wilson Wicks Fenwick Francis Faurlin Thomas Marsh Bowles Taarabt I'm doubtful if this Ego XI would get on, but when it did...........

It would be like the aftermath of an earthquake by the final whistle. Bodies everywhere. Aid agencies treating the wounded. Survivors huddled together for warmth in the away goalmouth. Glorious.

Different times, I can imagine Bowles on a pitch like a billiard table not a ploughed field, getting the sort of protection from refs he could only have dreamed of! Having said that Adel was a unique talent but was allowed to flourish because of the hard work of the unsung hero’s around him. Mind you, this thread is about favourite not best XI and therefore neither would get in!
