Leicester gained a crucial point and ended their five-match losing run as Harvey Barnes netted a second-half equaliser. Only bwildered and Tropical_Us got this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome. 22 predicted a win for Brentford with a massive 14 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.
SOUTHAMPTON 3 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 3
A 93rd minute James Ward-Prowse penalty earned Southampton a deserved point in a thrilling encounter as they came from 3-1 down. No 3 pointer, 3 had the outcome. 21 predicted a win for Spurs.
MIDDLESBROUGH 4 PRESTON NORTH END 0
Middlesbrough continued their impressive form under Michael Carrick with a comfortable win to move them within three points of second place in the Championship. They have now won 16 of 22 league games since Carrick took over from Chris Wilder. No 3 pointer, 22 got the outcome.
MILLWALL 0 HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 1
Danny Ward's second-half strike secured Huddersfield a first win in six games. No points for anybody from this game, with 23 predicting a win for Millwall, and the other 2 going for a draw.
STOKE CITY 0 NORWICH CITY 0
Goalkeeper Angus Gunn was instrumental in helping Norwich close the gap to the play-off places to three points after this bore draw. No 3 pointer, 7 had the outcome.
BRISTOL ROVERS 0 PORTSMOUTH 2
Colby Bishop grabbed a double for Portsmouth as they kept alive their slim play-off dream. Well done to unitedwhites for being the only one to have this spot-on, and a further 14 got the outcome.
DERBY COUNTY 0 FLEETWOOD TOWN 2
Fleetwood get a shock win over play-off hopefuls Derby, who lost a home League One game for the first time since early October. No 3 pointer, and only Lewis_1 had the outcome. 23 predicted a win for Derby.
CARLISLE UNITED 0 STEVENAGE 0
In League Two's match of the day, Carlisle had the games only shot on target in this bore draw. No 3 pointer, 5 got the outcome. The other 20 prediicted a win for Carlisle.
LEYTON ORIENT 2 COLCHESTER UNITED 2
Colchester produced a remarkable late comeback to snatch a deserved draw, with goals in the 89th and 92nd minutes. Taking their unbeaten run at Brisbane Road to six. No 3 pointer, and only Lewis_1 had the outcome again. 17 predicted a win for Orient.
Wow, what an incredible day this turned out to be. Nine of the weeks ten games had a strongly fancied team, and at half-time things looked promising, with only Derby losing. But that all changed in the second-half. A 89th minute third goal for Villa, foiled the 7 who had them to win 2-0. A Leicester equaliser put paid to anybody getting a 3 pointer for a Brentford victory. Spurs throw away a two goal lead. Middlesbrough go rampant. Huddersfield get a shock win. Colchester get a dramatic equaliser, and two games fail to have a goal. All of this lead to eight games failing to have a 3 pointer, and only a total of three from the other two games. Not surprisingly, in my time of adminstrating the Happy League, there has never been a ten game week producing so few 3 pointers, and despite good outcomes from Villa, Middlesbrough and Portsmouth, this was the lowest total points for a ten game week. As can be seen above, three 3 pointers were shared out, and the honour of being the weeks top scorer goes to Tropical_Us, as his four outcomes gave him a decent 7 points. Just missing out are unitedwhites and bwildered, as they got three outcomes to go with their 3 pointer, to give them a good 6 points each. Best of those who failed to get a 3 pointer was durham_exile, with his five outcomes.
In the Premier Amazingly ten of the eleven members in this division got 3 points this week, so it is as you were at the top and bottom. The only change came from the good week for unitedwhites, as he continued to do the hokey cokey, by going in and out of the top half for the last six weeks. This week finds him back into the top half again. With only 32 games left to the season now, the lack of change this week would have been good news for mfb_cufc in his quest for a fifth title, but not such good news for those hoping to escape the drop.
In Division One After the virtual stalemate in the Premier, thing were a bit more lively in this league. Two outcomes, for the second week running, was enough for Moor_Pinot to hold onto the top spot for the fifth week in a row. But his lead was cut to just two points, as the good week for bwildered moved him up a place into the other automatic place. His highest ever position. Two outcomes for GOSBTS means his six week spell in the top two comes to an end, as he drops to third. Two outcomes also for Madeira163, and he remains fourth. Four outcomes for Lewis_1 moves him up a couple of places, and back into the play-offs. Where he edges ahead of burnsieespana, who remains in the final play-off spot, on the first to post rule. I have been saying for a while that Tropical_Us has had the play-offs in sight, even though he has been ninth for the last eight weeks. His top scoring performance this week has now made that a reality, as he moves up a couple of places, and within a point of the top six. Only one outcome for oxfcolu means he drops three places. It didn't prove to be a good week to go 1-0 all games, and MrHappy2 drops to ninth, the lowest he has been all season. At the bottom, those five outcomes for durham_exile improved his chances of avoiding the wooden spoon.
