Welsh Water Going to London Now ? on 19:11 - Mar 14 by Boundy | Tell your hero Drakeford to stop buying up good agricultural land to plant trees and have a joined up agricultural policy which encourages farmers to stay in the industry instead of providing financial incentives to leave and then maybe, just maybe you could be right |
Thats quite sensible for you. I sort of agree.

Correct it was the EU that put up barriers to protect French farmers and to keep prices high. As part of the EU the United Kingdom had to comply.

Innit. Noticeable how few of these people have a problem with the grid supplying Wales with electricity or gas when its own production capacity falls short.

I am not in this field but I would imagine it would be a good strategy to convert farmland into woodland (natural woodland in riparian area of some of Wales great rivers Severn, Wye, Dee, Usk Towy Tawe etc. Apparently there are 60 million chickens in the Wye basin and guano is getting into the Wye making alkaline and unhealthy. Selected woodlands, reed beds and other suitable vegetation would be used to clean up the agricultural outfall before reaching the river. This may also assist in reducing the effects of pesticide and fertilisers. Riverside woodland is good for young salmon and other fish. Commercial conifers for profit is probably not that usedful but this is go for biologists and chemist to determine.

Which if occurred would make us even more dependant on other countries to supply our food. Something which we've already overly dependant on

A lot of the water supplied to England is used to irrigate food crops. Cut of the the water less food and more expensive. Guess they cut ration the food they send to Wales. It just shows how silly it all is. Bring part of the United Kingdom means surpluses in one part of the country is sent to other parts of the country.

Surpluses in one part of the country going to deficits in others. Correct Water, food, timber, energy, steel fabrications packaging banking, insurance, real estate construction entertainment art culture sport advertising tourism. All in harmony so stop talking about subsiding. Cash deficits come with certain vital activities.

You are the silly one. Nobody is talking of cutting water only you. Agreeing a fair price to help the poorest part of the uk is just common sense. Think oil and the Arab nations. Its business.

Because its clearly ridiculous for a nation like Wales to be short of water. Its like saudi being short of oil. Makes no sense on any level.

No. Wealth is traditionally extracted from the regions and nations of the uk and centralised in London. Look around London and you might see some signs of wealth. See also British Empire and exploitation. Thats why we now have a Tory Department of Levelling Up in theory. Please keep up at the back of the class.

Makes you wonder why Drakeford and his senedd cronies keep asking for more money despite receiving 20% extra funding per person than England under the Barnett formula. Perhaps the Senedd could have a levelling up mister to make sure the rest of Wales receives this extra money instead of just Cardiff. Just an idea but as Drakeford often says we do things differently in Wales No investment in new roads, infrastructure programmes, growing Wales biggest business tourism.
