Week 16 results WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 0 ARSENAL 2 Arsenal moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League as Martin Odegaard's second-half double proved enough to beat Wolves. This result means Arsenal will be top on Christmas Day for the first time since 2007. A massive 11 got this spot-on, and a further 15 had the outcome. BRISTOL CITY 0 WATFORD 0 City's winless run stretched to five games after this bore draw, as Watford fail to have a shot on target. Nobody had this spot-on, but 5 did get the outcome. LUTON TOWN 1 ROTHERHAM UNITED 1 Luton get a 90th minute equaliser, after Rotherham had taken the lead inside the first 60 seconds. That late goal was good news for the 5 who got this spot-on, and the 2 who had the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Luton. BRISTOL ROVERS 2 FLEETWOOD TOWN 2 Shaun Rooney scored a dramatic 99th minute equaliser to earn Fleetwood a draw against former boss Joey Barton, and extended their unbeaten run to five games while Rovers have lost just once in 11 games in all competitions. That late goal was good news for the 2 who had this spot-on, and the 4 who got the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Rovers. EXETER CITY 3 PETERBOROUGH UNITED 2 Exeter staged a rousing late comeback to claim victory, with ex-U's Jevani Brown haunting another of his former clubs with an 91st minute winner. Nobody got this spot-on, though 8 did have the outcome. FOREST GREEN ROVERS 0 WYCOMBE WANDERERS 2 Wycombe left Forest Green rooted at the foot of the League One table as they returned to winning ways with this victory, after they had not won in three games. Only 2 had this spot-on, and a further 12 got the outcome. OXFORD UNITED 4 PORT VALE 0 Billy Bodin and Matty Taylor both scored doubles as improving Oxford destroyed Vale for their biggest win of the season, and extend their unbeaten run to five matches. Another game with no 3 pointer, but 18 did have the outcome. CRAWLEY TOWN 1 BARROW 0 Ashley Nadesan made it five goals in his last five league games as Crawley completed a hat-trick of home league wins. A sublime 5 had this spot-on, and 5 also got the outcome. NEWPORT COUNTY 1 STOCKPORT COUNTY 2 Stockport striker Paddy Madden lived up to his League Two Player of the Month award by coming up with the winner, as his team came from behind to claim victory. A sublime got this spot-on, and another 4 had the outcome. SWINDON TOWN 1 TRANMERE ROVERS 1 Promotion-chasing Swindon extended their unbeaten League Two run to five games after coming from behind to earn a draw atgainst 10-man Tranmere. Only 2 had this spot-on, and 2 also got the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Swindon. A week that rather spluttered along, with a mixed bag of results, some suprise ones, and others changed with stoppage time goals, burst into life with the Arsenal 2-0 win. A result that was worth waiting five hours for, turning a distinctly average week into a good one for a number of members, with a total number of 32 spot-ons. Last week I said GOSBTS was going through a rich vein of form. I think it can now be upgraded to a magic spell, after another magnificent week. He was the only member to get three 3 pointers, the draws at Bristol Rovers and Swindon and the Arsenal 2-0, and three outcomes, to make him the weeks top scoer, with a brilliant 12 points. Nine members did well to have two 3 pointers, with the best performances comimg from Pinault_Noir, who had the wins for Arsenal and Stockport, and durham_exile, who got the wins for Arsenal and Crawley. They both also had four outcomes to give them an excelent 10 points. Best of those to get one 3 pointer was Lewis_1, who had the Stockport 2-1 and an impressive six outcomes, to give him a superb 9 points. Midweek League Cup Weeks 8 & 9 will be fixtures from the World Cup. The first of those fixtures are ready for predicting, with the deadline being the England v Iran game on Monday 21st November 13.00. Happy Cup The 1st Round games are waiting on the result of the Woking v Oxford United fixture, to be played on Wednesday 16th November. The 2nd Round draw will take place following that result. In the Premier Having the Arsenal 2-0 spot-on helped to maintain the 4 point lead for mfb_cufc, but it is now RSCOSWORTH who has moved back to second thanks to having the wins for Arsenal and Stockport spot-on, as he just prevails on the most 3 pointer rule from noah4x4, who got the Wycombe 2-0 spot-on. It is now a 6 point gap back to thrillseeker in the final Super Cup spot. Just losing out on that place is blueeagle, again on the most 3 pointer rule. Down to sixth, and a season lowest position, is ghughes11. Up a place to seventh is Daniel, but he only heads a group of four on 59 points, by the most 3 pointer rule. Even though he had two 3 pointers, the wins for Arsenal and Wycombe, concordman remains in the bottom three, but only on the first to post rule, that benifited wessex_exile. After going five weeks without a 3 pointer, Sector4 doubled his total of spot-ons for the season with the wins for Arsenal and Crawley. Not quite enough to get him off the bottom, but now only 4 points from safety. In Division One As I said GOSBTS is going through one of those rare magic spells at the moment, and his top scoring week keeps him top for the second week running. The excellent week for Pinault_Noir made sure he remains in the other automatic spot. After top scoring last week, another superrb one this week for MrHappy2, that included getting the Arsenal 2-0 and the Swindon 1-1 spot-on, keeps him well in contention in third. Three outcomes were enough to keep oxfcolu in fourth. Up a place to fifth is bwildered. The final play-off place is occupied by Madeira163. Just missing out a point further back is burnsieespana, after he had the draws at Luton and Bristol Rovers spot-on. The excellent week for durham_exile moved him up four places, and finally got him off the bottom after spending the last seven weeks there. Perhaps he could have a word with Matt Bloomfield on how to get a team off the bottom. The final two members to get two 3 pointers this week were basher2010, who got the Arsenal 2-0 and the Luton 1-1, and BFG who had the wins for Arsenal and Crawley. THE TABLES (116 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) medicine_man has withdrawn from the league.
