Seriously though, I've often wondered how a top manager like Klopp, Pep etc would get on if they took a job like ours atm. Would they struggle without being able to buy players in, or are they so good that they could turn around the squad we already have?
To be honest I'm curious as to whether Eddie Howe is all he's cracked up to be, or whether he's one of those who's brilliant at a certain club (his club of course, having served for so long as player and manager) and wouldn't be able to do it anywhere else.
No denying he was absolutely fantastic for Bournemouth, but I'm interested to see whether he'll be able to do it anywhere else.
His spell at Burnley was just ok, from memory, although I accept it was 10 years ago now and he is almost certainly a very different manager now to how he was then.
I notice after years of rolling my eyes at every suggestion of David Wagner he's now blown up his career to sufficiently tiny smithereens that he might be plausible for us now.

Also the myth that they spent very little is exactly that.......a myth.
Irrespective of how much money was spent his win record of at least 40% in this 3 managerial stints is mighty impressive. I think he was more deserving of England job than Southgate.

That one can be answered by looking at Klopp's time at Mainz 05 (his first job). When he became Mainz's manager they were in the second division. He got them promoted after 3 years, kept them in the Bundesliga for 2 years, and then they got relegated.
