The crying shame is why Labour didn't come to it's senses years ago instead of persisting with Corbyn and his para military comrades.

Hopefully Welsh Labour will wake up to the need to find a Welsh version of Starmer because they are just as embarrassing as Boris' lot at the moment.

The only minor irritation with the Guardian article is the pseudo intelligentsia prose - when does anyone normal use the phrase "He is a tabula rasa"?

He has a funny name and funny hair.
Thsts why the thick tw@@ts voted for him.

People voted for him because he made them feel that it was okay to dislike brown people and foreigners without actually having to admit to themselves what they really are. He was, like Trump, bargaining on appealing to stupid people and he did it with rip-roaring success.

Or possibly because Labour thought it Ok to make racist comments about white people / Jews, and failed to lack Momentum

Or possibly to implement Brexit, which was voted for in the referendum.

Just a guess

The two thickest planks in the UK (and arguably the world) were Corbyn and Swinson. They enabled this shower of shìt based on their shít for brains and hubris.

The "get Brexit done" was a great slogan, let's see how this goes moving forward. One can only hope it works out and we do get a FTA.

Or maybe it was because in the race to the bottom, Corbyn got there first, bottom of barrel well and truly scraped and now Bojo has broken the barrel and is digging himself a nice, deep hole. Meanwhile Piers Corbyn gives evidence of some possible familial predisposition to idiocy.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Corbyn is as thick as dogshit, but this wasn’t on him. As soon as Swinson and SNP decided to hurtle down the hubris highway, labour had no choice but to follow.

Indeed, the SNP are equally culpable for allowing Boris a free run. The SNP did well in Scotland and increased their numbers, but ultimately with Westminster holding the cards they are no better off.

The electorate didn’t believe them either...and it hasn’t just been about policies since Nixon’s “six o’clock shadow” helped JFK get elected.

There’s a difference between being a diligent, plodding local MP and Prime Minister. He was a bit dim and still stuck in 70s student politics.
It wasn’t just Corbyn - every time Abbott, Burgon, McDonnell and Gardiner opened their mouths in the media was a gift to the Tories.

Starmer has at last brought some talent in from the backbenches and got rid of the front bench liabilities. He’s also crucifying Johnson.

Crucifying Johnson isn't hard though is it? Starmer will put through more or less the same policies anyway, so sorry you fell for the anti-semite bullshit.

No matter who is there at the next GE they will still take billions from welsh taxpayers and payback crumbs - you only have to look at HS2 which has been classed as being paid for with English and Welsh money - who benefits? Not us, that 5bn we contributed could be spent on our own roads and transport infrastructure.

Westminster does not work for Wales, never has.

Thank you, goodnight and bollocks

I didn’t fall for the anti-Semite bullshit.

I did, however, believe Corbyn was a fûcking useless twât who facilitated Brexit and the most right wing and incompetent government in history.

Did I imagine Drakeford saying Wales would not accept any extra money from Westminster if it came with any preconditions on where it would be spent? Wasn't that after Bojo suggested the possibility giving Wales money for the M4 relief?

It's not that Westminster is great for Wales but that the Senedd is hardly great for Wales either. Welsh Labour are a car crash which maybe explains why the Tories currently have 14 Welsh MP's.

We'll have to wait and see what policies Starmer puts in place for the next GE and while they probably will be broadly similar to Corbyn's I don't think they will more or less the same, I think there will be some big differences. To start with I don't expect Starmer to be suggesting reintroducing the 50% tax band or slapping 7% on Corporation tax.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Its easy pickings at the moment as the government struggle, although i believe that its starting to get political with the resentful remain faction making hay.

Had to laugh at this though, makes my point perfectly.

THERESA MAY'S former chief of communications Sir Robbie Gibb revealed during crunch talks with Labour to get Mrs May's Brexit deal through, Labour's then Brexit spokesman, Sir Keir Starmer, rejected a document given him that contained a copied and pasted version of his own proposal.

May's aide in the Express. OK...

The document "contained..." is a clue. I wonder what else was "contained" in it?
