It’s basically why does anyone not born within a stones throw of the Vetch or who has started going recently (I’m guessing 2011 onwards but could be anything) even consider Cardiff as rivals?

I would go a bit more into specifics - unlike most countries where the inhabitants of nearby towns, villages or cities (or even ones further afield) don’t really hate each other - in Britain things are slightly different. Especially Wales . Inhabitants from one valley town for example might have a neighbouring town that they utterly despise because of their having a nicer bus stop or public latrine. This can lead to all out warfare between the two, largely settled by mob violence in the 1800s (which was brutally quashed by police from yet another valley town, thus creating a mutual enemy)but luckily sport was invented. Rugby union became very popular as quite often it was a case of throwing a ball into an already in progress fight, this legitimising said fight and police not needed. Football gained more popularity in the Welsh towns and cities where there could be far more audience participation. In short - where Wales led the rest of the British followed. This mentality, cleverly manipulated by the English aristocracy (which channelled inter village rivalries into those of international stereotypes which revitalised suspicion, disdain and outright contempt for anything foreign, let alone darker hues of skin colour) which led to the creation of the greatest empire the world has ever seen. Shed a nostalgic tear my fellow Cymros and Cymraeses, it all started right yur bud.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
