Is the Newcastle game over priced? on 17:47 - Dec 19 by RAFC1907
I haven't labelled everyone a numpty who said no, so please can you show me where it states that...
I also never mentioned everyone who voted works for the club...
I am sure the club staff, volunteers, trust members will have voted no however they may get their tickets for free or at a reduced rate.
What I do know is that several people on here have more than one account.
It was 24 votes to 3 at one stage yesterday... So it's very strange that all of a sudden another 40 people have logged on to vote... As there are never that many people on the board for any discussion.
Well spotted RAFC I also noticed the *sudden upswing in no votes, my first thought was that the clique had voted en masse.
*not to be confused with Sudden Lad. I dont think he is in the clique.

Ok, so who is in the Clique?
If you’re determined to go down that route, let’s at least be aware so it can be said and done and we can move forward and try and concentrate on what matters.
This divisive sort of thing needs to end, and thats not aimed specifically at you btw Kiwi, it’s permeating through into discussions everywhere and it’s something that has been exacerbated by a situation that has been allowed to fester for far too long. Totally avoidable.

It's not avoidable because the same 15 or so posters on here go to the game together every week.
They will all know who each other is on here as this site was active before facebook became popular.
There's no denying it has happened for years.
442 you speak a lot of sense on this board, do you think the game is overpriced?
I personally feel that the loyal fan has been sh1t on. All those times turning up watching dire performances and sticking by the club thick and thin, in the freezing cold on many occasion.
It would of been nice of the club to have a reduced price as this game was not a given at the start of the season, it being on tv and the festive period looming.
It would of been a nice way of saying thanks to the fans for sticking by us and lets get the ground packed.

I'm not sure who you mean by your first sentence but just to clarify, I go to home games with three people who never read the messageboard, never mind any other form of social media (and we all sit a couple of rows behind your dad), and I go to away games with one person who posts on here occasionally.
Apologies if I've misunderstood.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

What have I missed here? Is there a problem with a group of Dale fans going to the game together?
Tangled up in blue.

There is obviously a clique. Otherwise people wouldn’t get so uppity whenever it is mentioned. It’s one of the reasons people get so besmirched by things said on here.

On the pricing of the game, my views are in the opening post on the tickets thread. There were so many reasons not to use the Cat.B prices yet those weren’t deemed to have been sufficient for some reason. Others have touched upon it, even forgetting the actual rise, the decision would surely knowingly attract criticism towards the club.
The avoidable part was not so much about this forum, more where we are as a club as a whole. It’s been made perfectly clear over a long period of time, not just with the current regime at Spotland, that communication, transparency where posssible and a commitment to not just say something but actually do it is paramount to being Rochdale AFC. It’s something I’ve spent many (too many) hours talking and thinking about, with the hope that consistent message would finally see progress. And it’s not to say there hasn’t been progress made, but there is a real problem right now that needs addressing - the relationship between the club and its supporters (loyal, part time or potential).
It would be possible to list a myriad of examples that illustrate why this culture now exists, but right now it’s really not going to achieve very much. However, people within the fanbase/Trust and club must be aware and it’s my belief that everyone has a part to play for the greater good - RAFC. But to do that we’ve got to look further than our own personal stance and accept that something needs to change. If not, the levels of negativity we see on here, in pubs and on the terraces will continue, and with it the toxic environment takes a greater hold.
Though actually, I’ve probably posted along similar lines time and time again in the past, so maybe it might be worth stopping at some stage. Not saying what’s in this post is right or wrong or anything more than an observation of our football club over the years, but it’s definitely worth reiterating (and you’ll have heard this before), they know.

Even if there is one, why do certain people feel the need to revert everything back to it?
Talking about a clique on every thread is probably the closest kiwidale has come to getting an erection without the aid of viagra given his age..

Makes a poll
Doesn’t get the results they wanted
Cries foul
Seems legit.
So, if you were from the club (not saying that you are by the way) would you be happy that over 55% of your customers think you've priced such a huge game wrongly?
I wouldn't. I would reach the conclusion that I was wrong in my pricing.
We can't afford to have our small fanbase split on important issues like this, and the reason there has been such an outcry about it is that for the last year in particular, the club seems to be making too many ill advised decisions, thinking that they can do whatever they like and we, the paying customers will roll over and lap it up.

There are about 30 regular posters on here. Anything posted needs a pinch of salt when read by the club. I’d imagine club have contact details for most supporters. So if they track purchases properly they can follow up to find out why people aren’t buying.

Regardless of folks opinions on this, and as an aside, just done some very rough and quick calculations re-how much we might be making so far out of our present cup run.
When these get paid (I've no idea) but surely some should be made available for the Jan. window.
1st Round Win.................................£18K 2nd Round Win................................£27K TV Rights Boston..............................£72K TV Rights Newcastle........................£144K 4 matches 1st/2nd Rd. Gates @ 45%.......£50K (Very rough est. on 11,700'ish gates total) 45% Gate/Profit of Newc. game............£80K (Again a very rough est. - don't want to offend re the many posts etc).
So could be somewhere around the £400K mark before we win, get a replay etc.

Checks there are only 11 members online.
More votes for overpriced.
All of a sudden No votes shoot up despite only 7 members being online for 2 hours..
I know people on this board have several usernames and accounts, who knows it could even be yourself and then liking your own posts ;)
