Raining cats and dogs it was. George Smith scored a 5th goal for us at the death but it was disallowed. [Post edited 25 Aug 2019 6:50]

Loved George Smith. Always gave his all. I thought that it was Les Chappell whose goal was disallowed. It's been over 40 years so maybe my memory isn't so clear.

Yes it was a long time ago. Maybe Chappell got deflection on it, I know Smith took the shot. His hair was very distinctive, like a blonde 'Lloyd' out of dumb and dumber.

How far back should we go? I have to go fairly recent. Lots of happy memories supporting the team since the late 60s. For me it has to be the play off final against Reading for elation and Valenciia away for sheer pleasure. I suspect Michu's brace at Arsenal would have been in the mix had I been there. Best ever football at the highest level under ML. I doubt I will ever see the likes again.....

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Best ever Swans memory. on 16:47 - Aug 25 with 6889 views | 3swan | Like the ones people have already said and many many more to pick. Maybe away from a game I could say Preston away in our promotion to the old First Division, it was on the way back from the game on the M6 seeing the signs for Manchester and Liverpool and knowing that next season we would be in among the big boys.
Best ever Swans memory. on 16:51 - Aug 25 with 6869 views | sainthelens | Seeing the look on my 12 yr old lads face when we beat Reading at Wembley. It was a realisation that I could take him to all the Big grounds I went to when I was a teenager.
Best ever Swans memory. on 16:56 - Aug 25 with 6862 views | monmouth | Unusual one for me The ref’s final whistle at Sheffield Wednesday vs Swindon 1979. I was stuck in Yorkshire and if Wednesday won (they were given no chance before the game) we ‘just’ needed to beat Chesterfield at home to go up. Our kick off was half hour later and I assumed we’d win easily (yeah....after supporting us for so many years before too...). Swindon hit the woodwork 5 times and had 500 corners. It was like the Alamo. But somehow Wednesday won 2:1. Some of their fans were celebrating with us like they’d gone up when we heard the final score from the Vetch. Been fond of them ever since.
