Connor Roberts abuse of Asoro. 12:07 - Jul 24 with 13414 views | Swanseaman | . I heard CR going mad and him giving asoro abuse for a stray pass, think f*ck off was included in it. then there was another time he went mad again at 4min 45 secs on the highlights. it seems way over the top for me, all the players have made errors here and there during the friendly games. What good is it going to do shouting abuse at asoro. It came across like CR believes asoro is the youngster, so he can give him grief. what is CR like with him on the training ground or the dressing room. asoro has loads of raw talent, often jealousy can cause the way CR is treating him. It won't help asoros confidence. I'd enjoy watching asoro play, I don't want to think that connor roberts is out to ruin his selection chances. I hope cooper has a word about it. highlights at 4:45: https://www.swanseacity.com/news/highlights-bristol-rovers-0-swansea-city-3 . [Post edited 24 Jul 2019 12:13]

Connor Roberts abuse of Asoro. on 09:14 - Jul 25 by Badlands | Two trains of thought here. Those who think you improve a dog by beating it and those who think you improve a dog by training it. In any sport, in any walk of life Roberts' acton was unacceptable. In all honest my reaction should have been to walk up to Roberts and punch his lights out - but Asoro is a professional. It also appears that many who are slating Asoro didn't't see the game. Asoro didn't react, most or let his head drop. It is the fans who are complaining about Roberts' behaviour. And, if Cooper doesn't sort out Connor Roberts he'll have a very negative effect on the squad. [Post edited 25 Jul 2019 9:16]

If that's what you think is a rational and reasonable reaction to Roberts, perhaps you need to consider the possibility that your views on interactions between human beings are a little off.....!?!?!

Team sport, which, by your comments, you know very little about, cannot be compared with “all walks of life”. The pace of the game & the subsequent actions/reactions are unpredictable and petty squabbles during a match are nothing new, and rarely develop any further. That was my experience managing teams for twenty years.

Very rarely happens, i should know i played both codes for over 20 years, if one of my team mates spoke to me like that id smash his teeth in. If anyone of my team mates fvcked up id put an arm around them and have a quiet word. Every player is different so needs treating differently, some need a bollocking, some need an arm around the shoulder but imo you should never sound off during the game, that sh!t should be sorted on the training pitch.

If you’re training a dog you need to be firm with it and make it clear when it does wrong. Asoro clearly shit out of his defensive duties, backed off and allowed the striker time and space to have a shot. With a higher quality of striker that would have resulted in a goal more often than not. As a defender myself I can completely understand why Roberts was so p*ssed off. If you’re working your balls off to try and limit space and your teammate runs in the opposite direction instead of helping you I’d probably react the same way. I know it’s only a pre season friendly but there seems to be more of a seriousness to it this year. They want high standards in meaningless games and for me that can only be a good thing.

Would like to see Asoro fire up more. As would Roberts by the looks of it. Roberts has been on the rise. If Robbo gets Asoro on the same wavelength we will benefit. Any player who has a bad season after a high-value signing needs a reminder of what is expected. Probably heat of the moment and nothing else. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

. i agree with you for the incident you are talking about (the 1st one). but there seems confusion over my initial post: there was a 2nd incident, that's the one where CR erupted and was effing and blinding at asoro. for the defensive error, asoro came on at 76 minutes, and it happened 3 minutes later - that must have been the first to wind CR up, then the 2nd one really got to him. i don't want to keep going on about it, i'm just pointing that out. .

Here we go again, egg chasers on a pedestal again. As you say you played both sports and you weren't alone in doing that. So would you act like a paragon of virtue on a rugby pitch and then switch to being a bickering child once you entered the football field? Odd behaviour.

But it's increasingly common to see and hear Roberts' ranting at players. Its of fans liked Mawson because he was snarling, had looking, menacing and fired up. But he was also, for most of the time, s**t. What Roberts would like has **** all to do with anything. It is noticeable Roberts doesn't rant at Byers for running the wrong way, giving the ball away or when either manage to put the ball in orbit when aiming for goal.

CR's has every right to be concerned with the man playing, and defending, in front of him. Others can take care of Byers. I'd hope the left back would be concerned with whoever's playing left wing/wingback. Like I said about Dyer - Celina should have been livid with him. I wouldn't expect CR to be.

The point, I think, is being spectacularly missed, probably on purpose..... CR's right to reprimand his colleague is not in question.

. I have seen lots of matches where players from the same team get in a barney, and even start throwing punches. it just struck me as unusual because, a: it was a friendly, and b: it didn't seem that bad - CR way overreacted as i saw it. i just wanted to find out other opinions of it. .

. that's right, it wasn't a good pass, and CR had every right to have a go at him, but no need to go crazy and lose his rag- the level of reprimand was way out of proportion. .

Nope not really, i know alot of rugby thugs but whilst they would smash somebody off the ball they would never have a go at a team mate ala CR. Btw im only giving my opinion on CR and fyi i have never gouged or chewed someones lug off, i played RL where that sort of sh!thouse stuff hardly ever happens and the lads i played with and against a far from being gents.
