Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread 19:47 - May 14 with 122776 views | TheKirkyLife | Since our Premier League survival is now confirmed I thought it was about time that we look positively to the future for those legendary £5 million Jenkins' Specials. Who knows? We may even spend £10 million on individual players. I'll be updating the thread with every transfer rumour I come across. Feel free to read, discuss and so forth. First entry is the bi-annual "is Bony coming home?" rumour. The Daily Mail reports that City are ready to sell for £15 million with us and the Hammers ready to start negotiations. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4503498/West-Ham-Swansea-Wilfr
Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread on 10:40 - Jul 27 with 4362 views | Kerouac | So the Barrow deal fell through... It is worrying that we can't seem to shift dead wood. If we sell Siggy early next week we will have less than 2 weeks left until the start of the season and only 1 senior squad place left to fill. Yes, I know, we can sign 3/4 players who we want and not register some of the dead wood...hoping to sell or loan them out before the start of the season...but that represents a big risk. If we are stuck with several players earning Premier League wages who are not contributing to the match day squad we will be literally pissing our money away Monk-era style. We need to sell (or at least loan out); - Jefferson Montero, - Modou Barrow, - Ki Seung-Yeung, - Mike Van der Hoorn / Kyle Bartley We need to loan out (and get the wages covered); - Stephen Kingsley - Jay Fulton - Matt Grimes - Oliver McBurnie - Kristoffer Nordfeldt On top of that the following players contribute next to f*ck all these days; - Angel Rangel - Nathan Dyer - Wayne Routledge ...and we need; - Andy Yiadom (or equivalent) - Holger Badstuber (or equivalent) - Jack Wilshere (or equivalent...I'm hoping for somebody more in the Chalobah mold) - A proper winger - Possible replacement for Siggy - Possible replacement for Llorente What the f*ck is going on? Stephen Kingsley will stay and be back up for olsson Ki Seung-Yeung won't leave and we will use him when he recovers. Oliver McBurnie won't leave.. unless we sign another striker if one defender leaves i want it to be VDH... BArtley will be a good squad player Dyer is injured.. hence why he isn't contributing.. I think PC will have plans for him when he recovers though. Rangel... he will stay here and be back up.. even if we sign a RB he will stay.. will most likely take up a coaching role. so that's 6 of those players you suggest should leave... which in reality will stay in our squad.

You suggesting we ship out 13 players ? I saw your comment on loaning out Kingsley.. then thought we will have no back up for LB..

I'm suggesting we sell 4, try to loan out 5 and pointed out that 3 don't contribute much (as in, another reason why we need to get on with drumming up transfer money, freeing up wages and getting in quality....because our squad lacks quality). I count on my list 10 players from the 25 who are either not good enough or contribute next to f*ck all due to a mixture of injury and age. Leaving us with 15 viable 1st team starters...16 including Tammy Abraham. We need at least 4 more players who will challenge for a 1st team place (and that's not taking into consideration Siggy and Llorente possibly leaving) if we are to have a strong squad with genuine competition for a place....shipping players out to free up wages and generate money for the transfer pot is part and parcel of making that happen. My thoughts on Kingsley: - We should have 4 full-backs in a squad 1 of whom can be a youngster we are developing...the other 3 taking up starting spots and 1 place on the bench. - So at the start of the season say we have Naughton on the right, Olsson on the left and Yiadom on the bench. Or, Jenkinson on the right, Olsson on the left and Naughton on the bench etc. The point being that the guy on the bench should be able to cover both right-back, left-back and provide stiff enough competition to possibly take someone's spot... where does that leave Kingsley? In the reserves is where that leaves Kingsley. - Kingsley isn't ready to start in the Prem regularly. He needs to play regular Championship football for a season in order that he should develop (and increase his transfer value). What about Rangel I hear people say...he is finished. We cannot rely on him even for a few weeks in the Premier League anymore. He will cost us valuable points. Yes he should stick around and get a role at the club, I just can't take the idea that he provides any meaningful cover at right-back seriously. He is the reason we desperately need a high quality full-back to join (preferably right sided as we know Naughton can be good cover on the right and the left). If we don't get this sorted and go into the season with Rangel and Kingsley as the cover we will deserve what is coming to us.

Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread on 00:58 - Aug 4 with 2703 views | Kerouac | So this window we are a few mill up on transfer fees and I make it roughly £7-9m up on the annual wage budget. ...and we now have 1 squad place to fill. SURELY we can spend now on Ryad Boudebouz...if he wanted £50k/wk that would = £3m/yr + a transfer fee of around £7m. Don't tell me we can't afford it! We can get a right-back and a no.10 in when we sell Siggy. ...and after Siggy goes, Montero SELL, SELL, SELL (and finally get a proper left-winger, with an actual left foot) ...oh my days I've come over all feint, we couldn't actually become a good football team again could we? Well could we?

I have a funny feeling the pieces are slotting into place. Gylfi goes with money and the young lad coming to other way. With money in hand we match the buyout clause for Viera as the new attacking midfielder. We could yet also spend on Chadli/Yiadom but doubt Boudebouz will happen if Viera's coming in.
Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread on 06:01 - Aug 4 with 2588 views | Zut_Alors | It's chess isn't it. We want the money from Everton, and signing obvious replacements first weakens our hand. However, by waiting until the deal is done we show selling clubs that we have cash to throw around. For me, the concerning cost to all this is the lack of a pre-season these players (Siggy or the replacements) will have. We can't afford to wait until october before we're picking up points.
