Happy with the draw. Hudds will sell out and Spotland will be rocking. With our home form and good record against Championship teams, they will be in for a stern test. Really annoyed with the blinkered view of those dismissing it a bad draw...many of them dont attend league games unless they get a freebie.
What a terrible comment? Ive been to 90% of home games and never had a free ticket, out of the people who arent happy with the draw other than nordenblue get free tickets? Its a shite draw in my eyes because ive seen us play huddersfield a few times in the last 10 years..
I want to see us play new clubs who are the very best.. huddersfield are a championship club who wont bring the people of rochdale through the gate at spotland, add in the fact we're severe underdogs and i cant help but be left disappointed.

Dale at least 4000 maybe 5000 so a crowd between 7500 and 8500.
Winnable... Spotland bouncing and most important?
If we have aspirations of championship football what better than a meaningful game against a more than decent championship team? This will show us "where were at" as a club.
We all cry out for a shot in the second tier and to be competitive! This is our time.. We are at home.. We have won against Leeds and Nottingham Forest recently!! We can do this.. Come on the Dale!!!!!!

One other thing is..............with all the 'big uns' avoiding each other again - if there aren't any shock results (other than Dale beating Huddersfield ) - we would have an amazing chance of a massive tie in the 5th round.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10
The massive thing for me is this is at home. We have only lost twice at home this season in the league and they were the first two games, which based on our recent form seems like ancient history now. A home draw should give us a punchers chance against any team left in the competition and go a long way to offset the difference in the pecking order between the two sides for this fixture. We also aren't a side that draws much in this campaign. Only 3 in 23 in the league and 2 in 10 in cups, the deadlocks being broken in our favour on pens and a replay respectively for the cup games. So based on that, I'll predict a 2-2 draw. Of course, 1949er (aka Mystic Megson) should have the last word on this, since he foresaw the fixture.
First reaction to the draw was a bit disappointing not to get one of the big 6 Having contemplated it for a bit I think that it is a fair draw 6.5/10
There are several positives that can be taken.
We are at home Reasonable shot at winning Full away end Decent home crowd Draw is not so big that players might take their eye off the ball in the league. Good chance that it will be Saturday 3pm
Really looking forward to what will be a test and a half for our side who are beginning to think of play offs. Hudd will fill their side of the ground and add to what hopefully will be a 5,000 plus home crowd. Barrow was a good experience all round for those who went and for the young side - this is another one that Hill and co will relish. I fancy a draw and a money spinning return in Yorkshire. To those looking at this tie as a bad draw - look wider and it's not at all bad.

Love this draw, going to be a great match to watch, Huddersfield have some real talent to test ourselves against, Mooy, Nakhi Wells, Jack Payne, Bunn returning to Spotland. Couldnt give two hoots if the draw is considered not enticing enough to drag the Wembley day trippers away from their sofas to attend their first Dale match since the Play off final!

"but if dale keep winning" exactly and it's a BIG if, in case you hadn't noticed, Huddersfield are currently perched 25 league places above us, with players who's transfer fee alone is higher than our whole team combined.
I'm not saying we don't have a chance of winning, but there's more chance of us losing this than there is of us winning. Then guess who we get.. no one.
So no, this tie doesn't enthuse me and I'm not going to apologise for that.
Also enjoyed you brushing over the free tickets question.

It's winnable but not easy obviously with them being in the Championship. Probably one of the worst draws we could have got haha. They don't have to travel far, on paper a better team, and it's not a money spinner haha

You are welcome. Why not make us your second(third?) team, and stick around. Here are a few reasons:-
There are many overseas and distant fans on here. You will have access to 442 knowledge on kits. You will not be the only" second team" contributor. You are not called Chalky. Maybe the other posters will add to the list?

I agree with those who think this is a decent draw, there were a lot that were far worse. The Yorkies wont be relishing playing us, we're a good side now and fear no one.

I need to study my micheal portillo railway journeys a little harder then!
Quick, BBC 2, he's just had some black peas in a snazzy yellow blazer, him not the peas, at Stalybridge station. He's in Huddesfield now.
It's finished now and been replaced with Rick Stein in Bologna. Apparently, the people of Bologna have never heard of Spagetti Bolognese!! A bit ignorant if you ask me.

2 of my fav shows. I'd like to think of myself as having the dress sense of portillo and the love of food of stein. Surprissed portillo made it out alive when he visited Rochdale in that attire

Ah Fondles you're a man after my own heart and one with standards. Yes, I imagine he stood out in the vast ocean of grey jogging trousers.

I too quite enjoy this programme and saw the episode when he visited Rochdale.
When arriving at other stations he usually comments on its architecture/setting and so on, eg waxing lyrical about Hebden Bridge in the same episode.
Anyway the cameras caught him walking out of our train station, for once speechless, and with a WTF looked etched on his face. I knew just how he felt!
Although, by contrast coming back from Northampton this season we changed at Milton Keynes and I had a quick look around. I've never seen so many homeless people strewn in one spot as the approach to MK station. You'd have been forgiven for thinking you were in Calais it was that bad. So hopefully Portillo visits MK in his new series.

Afraid not. He continues across to East Anglia this week.
Next week he's in Ireland.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Yes,"a big if".but that`s the romance of the FA Cup isn`t it,the glory of the Cup as they used to call it. Let`s enjoy it,we have a great chance of beating Huddersfield, people are sitting up and talking about Dale,so let`s all enjoy,it,get on the bandwagon. We`ve beaten Leeds and Forest, absolutely no reason why we can`t beat the mob from t`other side of Windy Hill, then what? Your wish will surely be granted.

"great chance"?
More like an "anything can happen in the cup" chance. Surely.
Huddersfield are Premier League elect. I'd fancy us more against Championship elect Sunderland.
