Ki, as always, is the best midfielder in this squad at linking the ball from our defence to an attacking position.
However he is useless at tracking runners through the midfield. As is Leroy Fer. There's only room for one of them in that midfield. Personally I'd leave Ki on and take Fer off.
Neil Taylor is just astoundingly bad and it is puzzling how he is still starting for us in the Premier League six seasons after being promoted. Absolutely crazy. Then I see Rangel on the right and just laugh. How could Jenkins look over this squad in August and deem it strong enough to start the season. |

I think Mawson could be just fine. Don't want to temp fate, but he looks calm and composed, is good in the air, can deal with the physical side, and seems bright. He's looked every bit as assured in his first couple of games so far as any other new CB we've had in the PL. maybe Chico aside. | | | |
