Mumbles Pier. 15:56 - Oct 21 with 6729 views | lifelong | Good to see it open today on such a beautiful day. The top end of the pier and the new lifeboat station looking very good, still a lot of work to be done, but it's a start. Included in the photos is a view of our beautiful city from the end of the Pier.

Years ago cinderellas wasnt the only place open late. There was another one further around... Where the italian place is. Cant remember the name. There was also a burger restaurant opposite the apple. I cant remember the name of that either. Anyone remember ?

Mumbles Pier. on 23:08 - Oct 24 by max936 | Not sure there are Jas, plus its expensive to stop over down there unless you stay somewhere like the Carlton [not recommended imo place looks a dump] Café Valencia up on Newton rd is 120quid a night notsure what is like though, Patricks is way overpriced for what it is as well. We haven't stayed down at any of them, when we have we've stopped in our friends house, the Indian restaurants Mumtaz and Chutneys are very good if you're looking for Indian food, unless we stay with my mate we normally leave mumbles around half 7 the latest on a Saturday so no idea bout late night drinking spots. |
Cheers Steve, Maybe a night somewhere else then. I like Mumbles, hell I lived there for long enough but it isn't worth that (one night in Neptunes maybe :) ).

Mumbles Pier. on 09:52 - Oct 26 with 1559 views | pikeypaul | Very little to go down there for these days. Apart from a few drinks but that is hit or miss in the places left The Pilot, some good beers but hardly any room inside and often full of dogs. The George, totally soulless and like sitting in a library Oyster lounge,ok late on a Friday they have some good bands otherwise always empty. The Kinsale, lager is often undrinkable God knows what they are doing to it Village inn redicously overpriced £6.80 for a glass of cheap wine I can buy for £4 a bottle. Ale house about the best if a nice day and you can sit outside White Rose typical punch taverns pub, majority of the staff think they are doing you a favour in serving you. A good option for a few pints and that's upstairs in the Rugby club since they have done it out.always good beer and a friendly welcome. [Post edited 26 Oct 2016 9:57]

Will have to try through Rugby club been told a few times that it's worth a visit, l don't mind the dogs in the Pilot myself to be honest, sometimes it does get a bit ridiculous though.

Sadly, that's hard to disagree with. Being back the Antelope and the days when every pub down there was packed every night.

It's also good if there's a live sky/BT football or rugby game on they have a couple of dishes so can put different sport on simultaneously on the large TVs they have.

It's not. I was speaking nostalgically. I don't think it would make sense to open a pub down there now. The Alehouse and the 'new' Pilot seem to be doing ok though

Sounds pretty good. The chip shop up the road charges more than that for you to walk out with it wrapped in paper. Was upstairs open this afternoon in the George? Sometimes it's open but you have to go down stairs to get a drink since they keep the bar closed.

Not sure Paul, I wasn't aware that upstairs was in use to be honest, although the Ladies Toilets are up there, well that's where the Mrs went, toilets are very clean and tidy, the Pilot toilets are the same to Overheard waitress talking to a couple and said that they are shutting in February for a Refurb, its tidy enough now in fairness though, but the place does have a bit of a damp musky smell about it, nothing to bother you and I didn't notice until Mrs mentioned it.

I believe they're planning on turning The Antelope into a swanky wine bar type gaff once the Oyster Wharf development is complete later this year. Business attracts business and all that... Fingers crossed!
