The Reality of JFH 23:21 - Sep 13 with 6565 views | DWQPR | Is that he is starting to show that he is completely out of his depth. Tonight was nothing short of a total disgrace. Forget about Newcastle being able to spend £50million this summer and have Rafa Benetiz as manager, I have seen many a non-league side play against PL sides and give a decent account of themselves and walk off the pitch with their heads held high, whatever the score. Tonight, literally from the fifth minute onwards when we were lucky to get away with the disallowed goal we were a shambles, five defenders on the pitch didn't know who to pick up, two defensive midfielders playing so deep that Shelvey had all of west London to play in, and Yeni, Chery and Washington totally cut adrift. And let's be honest, 6-0 flattered Rangers. This could have been well into double figures had it not been for some poor finishing, some great saves from Smithies and the woodwork. Yes Newcastle are a good side, but they are a team in our league, playing at our ground against a QPR side that Hasselbaink evidently has turned into a 'pressing team'. Quite frankly his management is woeful and this season will quickly develop into a relegation battle. Before tonight we had played the bottom three at home. Beat Leeds comfortably, lost to Preston, comfortably and didn't even have a shot until the 58th minute, looked knackered and totally bereft of ideas, playing a defensive central midfielder on the right wing, and on Saturday against rock bottom Blackburn, and forget about Hasselbaink saying that their keeper made some great saves, he doesn't mention that Bidwell made two unbelievable goal line clearances, we could have easily lost by two or three, and nobody would have denied that Blackburn would have deserved it. But tonight was pitiful. A team not built on a pressing game but instead the negativity of a poor manager who hasn't got a clue on how to set up a team. A type of player that we missed tonight was someone who could put his foot on the ball and pick a pass, someone like Alé Faurlin, yet he gets rid of him and retains Karl Henry who if he went any further back with his passing he would be serving the beers in the Loft. I do believe that we have the makings of a decent team, but to make a decent team we need a decent manager. Look back to Gigi Di Canio, look how he got Rangers players, with lesser players than we have now, we played some outstanding football under him, yes we let in some goals too, but he dragged us off the bottom of the league to finish mid-table and he knew how to get the midfield moving forward and creating and scoring. Neil Warnock recognised the players we needed, the likes of Hill and Derry, who we all groaned about, but provided the experience and pragmatism to the flamboyancy ahead of them, they both knew how to manage and set a team up. The last time I saw Rangers get beaten at home was against Arsenal in the Cup in 2001. That Arsenal team contained the likes of Vierra and Henry and we included the likes of Lee Harper in goal and George Kulscar. Losing against that Arsenal side wasn't a disgrace given the state the club was in at the time, and the fact that Arsenal were at the zenith of their powers. Tonight is nothing like then, tonight was a disgrace and Hasselbaink for all his dull, boring, negative tactics should now go. Thank fûck that he is only on a rolling one year contract. Now get Warnock back for the rest of the season, he can still do it. Just ask any Rotherham fan.

The Reality of JFH on 14:30 - Sep 14 by paulparker | Of course fans are allowed a voice. The fans - collectively - are the heart of the club. But it doesn't mean individual fans don't talk out of their arse sometimes. But that's your opinion Danny , the other Poster has his , just because you disagree with him doesn't mean your right or visa versa , the crap football we are enduring is awful everyone can see it , we are poor at the back, we haven't scored in open play and cannot beat 2 of the worst sides to grace this division in many a year what do you want fans to say as ive said I like LF , bar the Ramsey appointment and the signing of perch & toszer he has been very good for us and your right he is one of us and a west London lad but that doesn't mean he has to be everyone's hero , Rodney Marsh isn't and he did more for the club than Les ever did , I don't agree with a lot of the anti Les stuff we get but the fans are the ones enduring this rubbish , its as bad as Paul Hart ever served up and unfortunately Les is accountable if JFH doesn't work hero or not |
To be honest PP you're probably more positive about Hasselbaink and his future than I am. There's no silver lining to last night at all, and while we've obviously progressed in some ways on the pitch, we're equally clearly going in the wrong direction in others. But in terms of Les, llike I say, it's one thing to argue about his decision making at the club - it's another to suggest that: a) He wasn't all that to begin with ("just a footballer," or whatever it was the other poster said). b) Him having played for us is the only reason people support him being at the club now. (It might have been the only reason Fernandes appointed him, but that's a different kettle of fish). I liked Les a lot as a player, who didn't? But he's not my hero (I'm a man of 44, I don't have many of those), and I wouldn't want him here if all he was doing was popping up to wave from the directors box every other weekend as a reminded of better days. If people are behind what he's doing here, it's because they can see how rotten the club had been allowed to get from top to bottom since God knows when, and that he's actually tackling that, often in ways that won't bring him any particularly public glory. And of course how well the team itself is doing the most important thing for most of us, but it's also not the ONLY thing. We'll have to see how the manager and the team respond to last night. It might be the catalyst for turning things around, it might also be the beginning of the end for Hasselbaink. But then what? Les goes with him and Warnock comes back in as DoF, a man with no real connection to the club and no interest in anything apart from the first team... who then appoints Shaun Derry with Clint Hill as his assistant, and all the people now moaning are deliriously happy until it goes tits up ten months later? People should be careful what they wish for. [Post edited 14 Sep 2016 14:48]

The Reality of JFH on 14:57 - Sep 14 with 1247 views | WeaverQPR | I'm hoping last night is some kind of watershed moment that sees jimbo radically overhaul his drossball tactics. I want him succeed bit 40 games into his reign and we are still no further on then when he rocked up. A concern.for me is how he seems to think we've played ok up until last night when in truth we had a freak performance v Leeds and it's steadily gone downhill from there

I agree with a lot you say , he was a fantastic pro for this club and probably stayed to long here when he could have gone a lot sooner , in todays football he would be worth 65 million god knows why TF appointed him , I suspect you were right in that it was done for the fans (and to p1ss off HR so he would leave) that being said he has been a breath of fresh air I think he was naïve in giving his mate the job (CR) but we are slowly off the pitch becoming the QPR of old ,which given time will see us in again its will be interesting to see how we react its just as well we are playing away on Saturday as a lot of the fans have turned , I would give JFH the next 5 league games and the cup match , if no improvement is seen then im afraid he has to go the football has been dire and there's no excusing that when a teams like Huddersfield & Barnsley are playing brilliant on a quarter of our budget fingers crossed there is an upturn because I don't want Les to take the blame for this and we lose the good work in the last 18 months
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot

The only thing I'd take issue with there PP is the Ramsey thing. It always gets brought as a stick to beat Les with, but how do we even know it was as simple as one mate appointing the other? I don't. I don't know how it happened. As a fan, my memory is that Ramsey came in as a stop-gap after Redknapp flounced off. We played OK against Southampton and then got the result up at Sunderland, after which in his usual post victory tizzy of excitement, Fernandes gave him the job until the end of the season. At the time, TF desperately trying to read the mood of the fans as ever, most of us were delighted to see Redknapp go, and we'd just won away for the first time since 1976. Then that summer the budgets obviously got shrunk dramatically, and I honestly don't know whether Fernandes had Les in his ear about keeping Ramsey on, or if it was considered a very cheap, relatively safe option by lots of people inside the club, including the rest of the board and CEO. It might be as simple as you say. It might not be. But we've all just assumed we know how it panned out. Anyway... from here, rightly or wrongly I think you're probably right about Hasselbaink's future. There is something missing in this team, he may very well not be able to identify it or do anything about it, and if the fans do another Ramsey on him, I'm sure the powers that be will bow to their wishes. I half-joked in the summer he'd be out after the Fulham game, and that may well be exactly how it plays out. Maybe that's what needs to happen. But if Les goes too, I hope no-one's expecting an actual plan as to what to do next. [Post edited 14 Sep 2016 15:33]

In your opinion, can you explain to me why a club of our size requires a DOF, Les Ferdinand or otherwise?

At a guess, because they want to use a different model than the one in which successive traditional managers helped run the club into the ground financially, while everything to do with football outside the first team was completely neglected, and the club ended up as a broken embarrassment because of it.

Maybe it was the inexperience that caused les to appoint CR after all he had worked and known him for a number of years Yes ramsey was a stop gap that quickly got out of his depth as a manger , this should have been addressed last summer but history is history and it was a mistake by Les, he gave a friend a chance and it didn't work now I wanted JFH as manager I still think he will come good but even im not naïve enough to pass off the last 9 months as any success or progress because we have been awful , really bad to watch, I keep going back to when Gerry first took over us from Don Howe , we had plenty of draws, drab football dour signings (gary Thompson anyone ) but slowly it turned around and the rest is history

We'll have to agree to differ - for me it seems pretty vital to have someone with the club's best interests at heart in that role, particularly after the self interest and incontinent spending of our managers from 2011 onwards.

The Reality of JFH on 20:31 - Sep 14 with 813 views | baz_qpr | Of course he is out of his depth, he is a rookie manager who has had good success at a lower level. But if we want to be a "stepping stone" club that is self sustaining then we cut our cloth accordingly. We have to accept that our top end wage is 1/10th of what it was, we shop in league one and low end continental sides. We all learn from our mistakes, and that means both he and the players have to be able to make them. The football at rangers has been bloody awful for the last 4 years. I think we are far off needing to make a change, we have to run until November and see how things are panning out then
