I'm at Headingley and it's fair to say the locals were a bit miffed not to see more of Root!

Excellent setup here though, really impressed. Almost the opposite of Old Trafford where you have to pay for everything, here it's all about the fans enjoying themselves.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

I have tickets for Saturday, although the weather forecast is not great.

Agree, Headingley puts OT in the shade. I've got tickets for Saturday and I believe that's now sold out. Tickets available for the Fourth day on Sunday and they are priced at 15 pounds for adults which could be well worth it.

The rest of the test match isn't looking too bad, weather-wise. Maybe a bit of drizzle on Saturday, otherwise set fair (according to the BBC weather for Headingley).

Crucial first hour in the morning. If we can push past 300 our seamers should be able to put pressure on Sri Lanka. JA's record at Headingley isn't great, but he has a score to settle with them from their last tour.

Might not need that fourth day, at this rate!

SL 12-3, Anderson & Broad making the ball sing

If England ever complain of having to play on a raging turner in Kandy facing 7 spinners, this match should be remembered for 'one for the homies'

Headingley in May. You know what you are getting. Not even a contest.

Well I said 55 overs.. Turned out we needed less than 40.

Won by an innings and 88 runs.

Bairstow or Anderson MOM?

Bairstow for me. Batting was more difficult than bowling, and he got a tenfer himself from behind I think
