It's more garibaldi than red.
A Garibaldi shirt (also called "Garibaldi jacket" or "Camicia rossa") was a woman's fashion, a red wool shirt named after the Italian patriot Giuseppe Garibaldi first popularized in 1860. It was the direct ancestor of the modern women's blouse.

Think the collar on the home shirt might be ok when worn, though do wish kit companies would maintain consistency on these things with home and away kits being the same design.
The sponsor has been done really well on both shirts, covering the stripes rather breaking them.
Whatever your views are on red are, that away shirt is brilliant. The won't be many better kits available anywhere next season. Having now seen them, that's up to a 10/10 from me.

Don't see why the collar was changed from what was voted on, strange. Waiting for some more pics as the quality doesn't look great on those ones. Hopefully the green and black on is announced as a third shirt and put back on sale.

Thank god the club involved the fans, they would have been crucified on here if they'd designed and chosen these shirt themselves!
No return to blue & black stripes and a red away kit. You couldn't make it up.
I think Errea have done a good job of taking the design and making the finished product. It's just not what I wanted given the options available. I'll probably buy them to wear at the gym, which translates as 'sit in the drawer'.

I haven't been down to the shop yet but I am expecting garibaldi and white scarves to be served up as well.😎
If it was a women's shop then you would get matching garibaldi handbags too, in other women's shops perhaps garibaldi underpants with Up the Dale on the front. (Playing away ONLY).

442's suggestion about making next season's competition 'stripes only' is a good one.
The thing is, the unique colour scheme (which was bizarrely dropped this season) has just been that - a colour scheme. There has never been a restriction on how that colour scheme is worked.
The likes of Newcastle and Sunderland will always have stripes. We can use blue, black and white however we wish.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Wasn't convinced when just seeing the winning design, but that photo convinces me - it's a great and very distinctive kit.
As for the away kit... not a fan of that shade of red under any circumstances. Looks a bit washed out, like when kids used to buy Man U shirts and wear them for years until the colour faded.
Edit: but after moving down the thread and seeing the actual collar, completely agree - it ruins it.
Great designs. I voted for Chaff's away kit but I'm still pleased with the results. Congrats to both of the designers, and well done to the club for the whole way this competition has been put into place.

Whilst firstly I have to say these are both a vast improvement on last years kits - I am also a bit disappointed as they are the worst of the 3 choices both home and away as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't have even had red as an option myself as it is just isn't Rochdale. I love the sash and think it would have worked with almost any other colour - but it really works as a contrast where the home kit is those colour stripes. And as we haven't even got the stripes for the home kit it just seems the two together look a bit disjointed. They don't really complement each other which I suppose is always probable when you're choosing from a competition. The process itself has been a great initiative by the club but nevertheless I'm underwhelmed by the final product. However if they're what most others have voted for I can only hope they sell well.

The red kit looks superb on that photo! Great design.

After three..."Come on you reds".
Hashtag is #coyr
Can't ever imagine singing that at a Dale match.
Still struggling to accept that as a fanbase we have chosen Red for the away kit. The design is fine but why red? Of the final six options it was the only one I wouldn't buy. Will probably buy just the home shirt again this season.
