I watched the last episode of line of duty and thought that was good. Undercover has finally grabbed by attention. I quite like some of the investigative programmes Stacey Dooley does. However I can't wait for the next series of people just do nothing.

Just finished watching Waco on SBS (catch it up on SBS On Demand if you haven't seen it, Aussies). It is excellent. They really shove it up the FBI.
Michael Shannon does his usual great job of playing a highly conflicted individual.

The one with Joanna Scanlon? I've seen two seasons, both good. She is impressively versatile, that is a million miles away from decent comedies like Thick Of It and Getting On.

Can't remember why now, but when i first watched Better Call Saul, soon after Breaking Bad finished, I wasn't in to it at all. But it's been mentioned on this thread a few times --
I think by Simmo? -- so I've given it another go, and I now realise it is excellent.

I have been talking it up, along with a few others on here.

Same as you I found some parts a little slow and too deliberate, but now I love those parts. I said before on this thread that it's the best thing on TV when it's running, primarily because Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn are both absolutely incredible. The knowledge of and appreciation of Breaking Bad is a bonus, especially in later seasons.

The wife and I started watching "My Brilliant Friend". I expect you are thinking that's a pretty wussy programme to watch and actually, we were hoping it would be like that, all fields of wildflowers and jolly adventures in the beautiful Italian countryside, to provide a bit of light relief from these straitened times we live in.

In reality, it was gritty and quite dramatic, so much so that my wife couldn't face watching more than one episode. Too gruelling. You might like it!

I know it's not new but I need to put in a word for "Modern Family". I usually avoid American comedies because the Simpsons is the only one I have ever enjoyed, but MF is comedy gold.

Phil Dunphy is amazing. His one on one's to the camera often make me burst out laughing... Other parts I can take or leave, but the first few seasons especially were great

Yeah it's not a genre I usually enjoy, but the first few seasons are written so well.

The film about Bobby Robson is on Netflix and it is really lovely- what a gent- guaranteed to bring a tear to the eye. Also seeing the special one who insists on referring to him as 'Mr Robson' he moves up another notch after his Grenfell contribution.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned but I’ve got into Tin Star. Tim Roth immiigates to Canada where he is a police chief. It’s well worth watching. In other news today’s our Christmas meal we have got three injuries and rain is likely.

Just Finished Watching 'the Terror' , The Ridley Scott Produced horror/Thriller of the Royal Navy's polar explorer ships HMS Erebus and HMS Terror in the mid 19th century.

The ships are soon stuck, frozen and isolated, and those aboard must survive the harsh weather conditions , lead poisoning driving them to the outer limits of insanity, and each other, while being stalked by a wild Beast. Madness .

Watched it the other day I also thought Jose came across well always calling bobby “Mr Robson”
Hall & shepherd are total wrong uns , Newcastle “shouldn’t be finishing 5th” please do me a favour
It makes me sick that Newcastle fans hijack Bobby as theirs when they hounded the poor old sod out of the club
Started watching Sunderland TIL I die , all I can say is thank the lord we never employed Grayson talk about a village losing it’s idiot

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Echo your thoughts about the Bobby Robson doc, PP. Gentleman who is quite rightly respected across Europe.

Finally getting into the series of Elmore Leonard's 'Get Shorty', the man that Tarantinto et al borrowed from. Three episodes in and it's so far a worthy tribute of his patchwork of quickfire wit, multi-layered script and deep and talented cast.

Get Shorty gets better as well, Season 2 improves on season 1 so plenty to look forward to. it took me a few episodes to buy into the main character because of the "IT Crowd" association but once i got passed that it was really good

Succession. A drama series about a dysfunctional American global-media family. Best thing I’ve seen on tv in a while.

On episode 7 of the first series. I am alternating between thinking it is good and awful. I am a bit bored of it now tbh. Not much happens, the stuff that does happen is too far fetched just like the characters.

I watched that last year, absolutely brilliant, very atmospheric. There are a few scenes where the set looks a bit shonky, like if you gave the ice berg a shove it might gently topple over. But in general seriously compelling.

The Punisher Series 2 has now dropped on Pira.. I mean Netflix today.
It's a shame that Disney now owns these Marvel characters as there is not likely to be anymore.

Watched that this weekend. I remember finding the whole thing unbelievably hilarious when it was all unfolding on Twitter in 2016. Less so watching that doc seeing the workers on the island get burned.

If you like smutty, Inbetweeners humour "Sex Education" on Netflix is pretty entertaining.

Decent scripts and acting, and Gillian Anderson as a sex therapist, what more could you ask for?

We've just finished watching the first series of The Deuce.... quite obviously from the same stable as The Vice but not as good.
I quite enjoyed it, very near the mark but then it's got to be as the birth of USA porn is the core storyline

Series II Box set downloaded and starting this evening.

A mention also for Les Miserables.... amazed I got into it but I am.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
