Thread of the match on 17:58 - Aug 8 with 3426 views | ColDale | thought it was a great display. Did Posh actually have a shot on target in the entire game? Very impressed from start to finish, especially when under the cosh in the last fifteen minutes where we didn't even allow them a shot, nevermind one on target. McDermott looked to have bags of potential, with the best feet we've seen at the club in years. Looks to be another inspired signing by Hill. Peterboro fans were lamenting the lack of money spent by their chairman after the game. Well played our team of youth players and free transfers. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Thread of the match on 15:27 - Aug 8 by YouTubeDale | Ricochet off the Peterborough defending meaning Camps wasn't offside for the goal. |
Looking at highlights tonight Camps was onside - even discounting the deflected pass by the Posh defender. Bizarre scenes at Doncaster with them scoring whilst returning the ball that had been kicked out after an injury. Common sense to let bury equalise.

Only Accrington and Fleetwood had worse attendances I noticed today looking at the paper. Very sad more didn't witness that terrific performance at Spotland.

Both Oldham and Berry were away. Manc City played away last night. Manc United regulars aren't generally made up of Rochdale match goers and Burnley were playing in Leeds. So there wasn't really much competition on Saturday.

Football is an expensive hobby to have, apart from the price of the ticket there are lots of add ons such as food, drink, replica shirts and stuff, plus if you have a young family the price of watching football can go sky high just for 90 minutes enterainment, people tend to stick to one club and if that club is playing away its doubtful that they would use their hard earned on another club,i wouldn't watch Forest or Mansfield if Notts was playing away,I cant ever seeing Rochdale being a big club in the next couple of decades if ever due to the amount of competition and I say that with no disrespect to you,to be honest,i would sooner support my local lower league team than say City or Utd,you can see their fans everywhere but I bet if you was in another town or city and saw someone with a Dale shirt on you would go over for a chat,3000 odd maybe not good, but you seem to be doing well on it...

Ideally, we wouldn't be charging more than £15 for entry into the ground (which still would not be cheap) and making it free for all under sixteens as part of a long term project to boost attendance. Unfortunately, the down side of that would be a reduction in income, less money for Hilly and the club moving backwards on the field, and it's inevitable that crowds would drop despite the lower match entry. As it happens, the early bird season ticket (complete with £25 off voucher) works out at exactly that for adult season ticket holders for the main stand, £13 in the Pearl Street and less than £11 for the Sandy Lane. I know it's been touted on here before, but if the club could produce some sort of finance scheme whereby between January and June, you can pay six equal installments for your season ticket for the following season, and then twelve equal payments between July and June for the year after's season ticket. No idea how easy that would be to administer, but at least that way you wouldn't require a finance company (and no cash goes elsewhere), the club still gets all the money up front and no supporter is left with a big one off payment. The downside would be that the club would need to know season ticket prices six / twelve months in advance (am sure there would be ways round that). The added benefit would be that any price increases would be deemed as being neglible. I often use the letters from Sky with the price increases - how many people cancel when it goes up a couple of quid a month compared with how many wouldn't renew a season ticket if it went up £24 on the year before? I'm convinced this would make retention of season ticket holders a lot easier. Assuming there's no banking technology to do it for you, would it be too much work for someone to check off up to 1000 payments on a specific day designated for direct debits?
