In the 'Sliding Doors' parallel universe where Sterling was convinced to stay at Loftus Road and made his debut as a 15 year old, what would have happened?
Other than the main characters getting different haircuts to signify their involvement in an alternate reality, my prediction is he'd have been snaffled up by a medium-sized Premier League club by the time he was 17 and we'd probably have ended up with £4m or £5m. Would've been very useful at that sort of time but oddly the fact that he never played for us, went on the cheap with a sell-on clause and was developed at Liverpool's academy has probably ultimately meant that we've made a lot more money out of the deal.
