48 and receding pretty fast now, i've done well really as most of my (male!) family were pretty bald by the time they were 30, mine started thinning mid 30's

I'm 49 next week and although I gave up the rock star locks a good few years ago (just 'cos they're a pain in the arse to look after) my hair is the same as its been for twenty years. Only trouble is my beard is whiter than the Alps in December & the wife & kids are demanding I dye it. I, naturally, am resisting on the grounds of it being a bit girly to do so. I'm fighting a losing battle & I have the horrible sinking feeling that this'll lead me down the slippery slope to one of Discos manbags.

50. Alas all those weekly bleachings of my hair so I could dye it funny colours, during my punk era, is probably what killed it off by the time I was 30.

100% of people who drink water will die.

full head of hair, in fact more than I had when I was younger as it's in a bob now instead of the shortish back and sides with long fringe effort when I was younger. I've dyed it blonde since I was 14 so don't know what natural colour it is now although my son suggested my carefully integrated natural ash blondish highlights were in fact grey - cheeky git

As someone who is going a bit thin on top,
I like to cling to the idea that baldness is a sign of virility

Best Hair thread of the year, so far...

I'm early to mid 40's and French Army/Clare, but having said that, there's still life in the old follicles yet.

Was it the Mitchell brothers that made head shaving fashionable?! Years ago blokes would cling on to their hair for grim death, hence the comb over, but these days the first sign of thinning and the whole lot gets shaved off.

I've got the Power.

50.
Still got a fair bit of length at the back and wear it long sometimes with a pony tail like Francis Rossi. If I'm going out somewhere posh I get my eldest who is a hairdresser to arrange it up on top sort of swept over. A good swish of hair spray and I'm set for the night. Not a grey hair in sight either. I'm sort of like between honey blonde and chestnut blonde. It depends what my daughter can get hold of from her salon.

Full set here, little bit of salt and pepper you g on down the wings. Happy with that at 47.

Remember completely freaking out once when I thought I was receding after I combed my hair back and thought I saw a widows peak appearing. Found an earlier picture that showed the same hairline several years earlier, panic over!

Dads 78 and has the sort of top pelt that most people would kill for, so luckily I inherited that from his gene pool, just waiting for the diabetes and lung issues to make the full set.

A good tip as you get older is to grow your ear and nostril hair and if you are balding, shave it off and glue it to your head.

No one will notice.

50, still got most of it on top but it's going very grey and starting to recede at the temples.

I'm more worried about my stubble. I used to be slim and my stubble used to be thick and dark. Now I've for a fat face and white stubble so after three days I look like Minty out of Eastenders.

My hair's all gone. Went at 31. It was receding for ages and then when looking at a mates wedding video of myself doing the best mans speech in Cuba, where I was looking down at the notes, the sunburn on my bonce made it all too evident it had gone on top. My hair days were over hence forth. Shaved it once a week ever since.

I look at my 6 month old son and we look like twins albeit 35 years apart.

51 with the widest centre parting in town.
Keep the sides and back to #1 to avoid any comparisons to Phil Collins.

Pleasantly reassured by the ages of most replies though.
