Yep, I understand it fully. I have tried very hard to watch it, going back to the 80's when it first arrived on Ch4. I gave up, eventually. The bit I cannot get, is the umpires throwing the yellow flag on a play, and then we have to watch umpteen replays while the TV commentators work out what the infringement was. It is too stop and start for me. Also, it's not simple, which is the beauty of association football.
However, I think that factor also spoils rugby football in this country. The players get pulled up for an infringement and often they don't know what it was for. The rules are too complicated. And I used to play rugby to a high standard, but fell out of love with it. [Post edited 26 Oct 2014 20:39]
