Traore stays 11:22 - Aug 31 with 6153 viewsbosh67

Phew! He's turned down a move to Palace to fight for his place here. Really pleased. Although I wouldn't have him on my side at a pub quiz I certainly feel that he's one of the most improved players at the club, both in ability and attitude. Very glad he's decided to stay! I like the guy, like his attitude. Good part of the squad that gives us options.

Never knowingly right.

Traore came on for about the last ten minutes minutes of the game I was at at Anfield as a winger it was 2011/12 and he did more attacking in that time than anyone else on the pitch. That's when I realised where his strengths lie and if he had been on longer we may have won that game. I'm not sure he's a starter for many games, but a useful option on the bench. As a full-back he hasn't been the best in defence, but he has improved and may get better.

Who's Next?

Not good enough at left-back and shouldn't be ahead of Yun in that position but he's a very good winger on his day. Hoilett was great yesterday but in general I'd rather Traore there with a proper full-back behind.

His attitude has improved since the back end of last season, and He's got a lot to offer going forward, speed, an excellent cross, and – though he hasn't done much of it – when he cuts inside his shot can be dangerous. It's in defence where he's a problem, largely because his decision making is poor, and there's an air of panic about him. If we do eventually go to three at the back he should do better there, as he'll have more cover (as long as Dunne isn't behind him.) Yun might have more to offer in the long-term but Traore's shown lately that he can still up his game.

Call me cynical but i wonder if "stay and fight for his place" is code for Palace didnt meet his wage demands

I like Traore, always have done since he started at Arsenal but he has been "developing" for years and actually when you think about it he has never really improved from that teenage promise

Who knows. But, well before the Palace offer, he'd made statements to the effect that he "was 24, and it was time to get serious about his career." I think HR would've shipped him out last year is he thought he was a total waster.

Still not sure where this 'Traore stays' has come from. No source metioned, not on Offish, so just hearsay for now I guess.

Exactly. He's only here for the money. Palace offering less than what we've foolishly just promised him for two years.

"He's turned down a move to Palace to fight for his place here."

AKA

Palace don't want to give him the same daft wages we do.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

maybe, or maybe he's telling the truth. I like him as a player, he's versatile and offers us options like he did in the play off final. No, he's not the worlds greatest but he is here already and if he says he wants to stay I think we should let him, he'll know by January if he's getting into the team or not. I don't think he's a bench warmer who is just here to collect the wages; I can see him regularly coming on after 70 mins & with his pace be a valuable asset to us.

Yes he's provided many a heart stopping moment when played in defence...but in the 2011-12 season I'm sure I remember him marking Walcott out of the game at the Emirates

Just sayin

Such a shame. This is the one move I was praying would happen. Useless at Arsenal and not much better at QPR. To harp on about one cross 2 seasons ago at Man City is frankly laughable. If he actually got to the byline he would be an asset as a left winger because he can cross a ball. Instead he always cuts in and hits lame shots because he can't shoot. Why do some footballers not concentrate on their strengths instead of having ideas above their station?

'Absent minded' as he now known to some of us is certainly is an enigma.
Although his appearance currently makes Bishan Bedi seem more appropriate.
It always seems that he constantly needs encouragement, and if it actually registers, is potentially a decent player. He certainly doesn't lack pace, just belief.

cant think of one opposing wing back/full back that wont have harriet harmans husbands goose fat out at the prospect of facing mavis reiley .

letting dany simpson go and keeping hans peter briegal makes as much sense as paul ross chemical gay romance with a bloke who looks like the shagged out brother of barry hargreaves the dancer in 'hi-de-hi'

cant concentrate long enough to play a game of tumblin' monkeys
