Flashing Advertising boards 11:29 - Aug 24 with 16099 viewsFlashberryjack

I sit in the front row, east stand.
I couldn't believe it when I saw the advertising board was not only facing the pitch, but also in the faces of the supporters.
F*cking awful they were! found it hard to concentrate on the game with those flashing lights right in my eye line.
I know a few had to move incase the flashing lights brought on an epileptic fit, I sincerely hope that they won't be on for the next match, or at least be switched off during the game.
On top of that the boards had been moved further out, I assume to make them more visible to fans further back in the stand, but by doing this it completely obstructed about 2 foot of the field and by line.
Anyone else had the same problem?

Nothing in tonight's post about the mass outbreaks of headaches, surely it hasn't been overstated

Anything in there about the hundred or so that missed kick off?

My head is still hurting.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

One day I'm going to find out where you sit and you're going to get a pasty lobbed right at your bonce.

Darran is easy to find, he sits in the same seat at home as he does in the ground.

Turn them down be f*ck.....turn the f*cking things off.
I swear I'll never ever buy a carpet from that company, and when I pop my clogs, that firm of undertakers can go f*ck themselves as well.

Seems the advertising worked though.

Not sure if I'm normal but I hardly looked at the big screens apart from when the teams and bench were announced and the odd glance. As for the flashing led boards I didn't even notice them at all facing the crowd and I'm halfway up the east in the middle.

Boy we must be doing well on the pitch that's all I can say. I would add that if my card is declined and I miss some of the game let alone half an hour I'd be going mental that's unacceptable.

Can you imagine half the people who attend matches these days who complain about their "match day experience" what would they make of the vetch and the toilets or the beer hatch on the north bank or those pillars that held the roof up, it would be carnage absolute carnage.

I agree with the OP they are f*cking dreadful.

My seat is in first row of South Stand and I hated them, but managed to ignore them. How did you manage at pitch level or were they not in front of you?

I sit in the east with my lad and about six rows back from the front, what the fu ck is everyone moaning about ? It added to the professionalism of the advertising I thought.

If I we're sitting in your seat, then probably I wouldn't have noticed the led boards either, but spare a thought for the poor f*ckers sitting in row A in the East stand, with those f*cking things stuck right in your face.
The only way you wouldn't notice them is if you were blind.
On top of that, they've been positioned in such a way to maximise exposure to fans further back, that the only way you can see all the pitch is by standing up
They are a utter disgrace, and shows exactly what the the club think of their fans

Depends on what you regard as being normal.....sitting right in front of those led advertising boards boards for 90 minutes could easily send you potty.

Dont see the point of comparing the vetch experience to that of today. I payed a fiver for the privilege of going to the vetch to see lads earning about the same as me who drove escorts and fiestas. I realised there was nothing the club could do about it. Totally irrelevant to the small fortune it costs to support my hundred million pound business today.

I'm in the front row with my two young sons. What a p**s take those ads are. They're flashing away right infront of us for the whole game. As for the view, I can just about see the foot of the goal post, but my boys basically can't see anything nearer than the six yard line.

I'm going to write to the club and suggest anyone else does the same. If they had told us in advance I would not have taken those seats for my season ticket.

The money raised from showing local ads to a couple of thousand people for 2 hours every fortnight will be minimal and it just makes me feel they do not care for the common fan. I notice there are no boards facing the West Stand!

Spot on mate.
The tw*ts that thought this was a good idea, need a good f*cking with a rag mans trumpet.
I will definitely not be using any of the companies advertising on the led boards.

If nothing is done, might be worth contacting the companies involved and inform them that they are paying money for advertising....that is having the opposite effect to what they intended to achieve.
