Anyone from the North-East?? 20:55 - Aug 2 with 4105 viewsDurhamDaley

Just wondering if there's anyone on here who is from the North East who travels to games and might be willing to give two lads from Durham a lift??

If so we should all ideally pay for him to get to the game not to mention the discounted entry? We dont want to be isolating anyone for Christ sake

Or perhaps we could all just hold hands hug the nearest tree and live in the ideological bubble that a few on here live in?

Or perhaps we can do without the holding hands, tree hugging, ideological bubbles and just increase club revenues by giving the unemployed discounted entry.

It wouldn't cost me anything.

Or perhaps everyone just agree with you and reward numerous people for doing not an awful lot while charging everyone else twice as much for the privilege, now thats the future, thats opinions for you

If it increases club revenues then it'd make sense on more than just a financial point of view.

We're just two teenage dale fans who can only make it to a game every 6 weeks maximum, we are going on Saturday for our first game since Sheffield in January. And to those who were asking, we would offer a payment even if there was anyone around who was willing

I'd make a part payment to get you as far as Scotch Corner - you might want to escape by then.

Thanks very much for the offer mate but it would be pretty hard to sort out ie. how to get further from there. Thanks again but our post was asking a bit much and was out of hope I guess

miserable sods...seems to be two genuine young dAleys trying to get help to the game and all you lot can do is bicker about an unrelated thread

you seem to have plenty of yorkshire based fans, could the lads get a train down the east coast and meet up for a lift to the ground?

If you 2 got the train down to York I could give u a lift from the train station, then drop you back at York after the match.
Its a bit of sodding around but saves a lot of sodding around.
I won't be able to Saturday though as away for the weekend

Thanks for the suggestion, also it would make it easier for the nice guy giving us that lift as it wouldn't be as often, simply because of train prices going south and the payment for the lift on top. We shall wait a few days and see if anything materialises. Thanks again

I don't want any petrol money mate, if your on a budget don't worry about it. Might be worth you looking to book games for the future as train prices fall quite a bit the further you book in advance.
The offer is there anyway pal.

You can get a pass from National Rail called 'Two Together' that allows two people to travel together (obviously), but you get a third off the train travel.

It will cost you about £30 for the 12-month pass, but over time it will pay for itself.

It's valid all weekend and after 9.30am on weekdays and you don't need to be 'together' as in a husband and wife sense!

More info here: http://www.twotogether-railcard.co.uk/

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

I am a daley currently living in Sunderland but don't drive. I know of a couple over at Teesside uni aswell soi there are a few of us.

FYI you can get some dirt cheap megabus tickets these days.

Thanks for the idea TVOS, but to throw a spanner in the works the younger of us is only 14! I shall search around to see what else I can find

The younger of you can get a discount ticket for £5, at least for the time being.

I feel for you Tom, I really do.

Glad to be backing in the relative cultural paradise that is Heywood.

Agree with Tom though, the easiest way I found to get to games while up at Sunderland was a megabus to Manchester and then the 17 bus to Rochdale town centre from where my Dad would pick me up. Only did that once or twice though, usually came home for the whole weekend if I was going to the game.

Tangled up in blue.
