Bellamy Incident Under Scrutiny? Sunday, 9th Feb 2014 09:09 I am not sure that an incident that passed by yesterday almost without comment during yesterday's match will mean that there is not the case of retrospective action for Craig Bellamy following yesterday's TV replays of the Swans 3-0 win over Cardiff. Bellamy was seen to strike Jonathan De Guzman in the back of the head - an incident that resulted in the Swans midfielder holding his head but no action at the time from the referee who supposedly didn't see the incident. It was the second incident on match of the day last night that was highlighted - the other being a kick by Yaya Toure on Van Wolfswinkel which could be another that comes under the scrutiny during the week. In fairness to De Guzman he made little of the incident but there was a clear strike to the back of the head by Bellamy as he ran back following the break down of a Cardiff move and the Swans looked to launch one of their own. Bellamy had hit the bar earlier in the second half shortly after Wayne Routledge gave the Swans the lead but that was one of his few contributions of note as the Cardiff midfield were second best to the Swans for most of the game and the scoreline at the end reflected that. The result leaves the Swans 10th in the table and Cardiff 19th, three points from the safety positions in the Premier League.
