Yep we’ve heard excuses for years now.

The lack of investment after selling off the best players.

Stephens being in the team, let alone captain, shows the standard of player we have at the club.

By selling players and replacing them with inferior ones.
That is the reason.

We have to beat the teams around us.
We drew with Ipswich and lost to Wolves and Leicester.

Playing well against Arsenal, Liverpool and Brighton mean nothing.
Getting points on the board is what counts.

But then just blame VAR when a decision goes against us.

Bree could slot in at Centre Back.
He has never let us down and is a no nonsense player who when he sees danger will put a size 9 through the ball. Something the others perhaps should be doing.

We don’t seem to try to outplay the better teams as you rightly say with possession football and play better but when we face the likes of Brentford, Leicester, Wolves we try to pass them off the park with disastrous results.

I can’t see Bella-Kotchap being in the squad.
The club can’t afford him being injured due to a January sale and there being doubts about his over health with a heart issue cancelling a move last summer it’s best he stays at home and counts his money.

Chelsea are dark horses and creeping up the table plus with some favourable fixtures on the horizon and the ability to put out a totally changed team for cup games could soon be pushing the kuntz on top of the table.

Tonight is a free hit if ever there was one.
Just put in a performance. 100% effort, 100% of the time.

WE MARCH ON

This.
Instead of human error from the ref and linesman we now have human error from people watching tv screens miles away.

It isn’t working and there was a chance last summer to get rid which apart from Wolves nobody voted for.

They still moan when a VAR decision goes against them though.

Like the Beto goal for Everton against us.

I don’t remember the amount of time on that being moaned at when it went our way.

There was a chance to get rid of it.
Southampton Football Club didn’t vote against it.
There can be no moaning about it then.

‘Premier League clubs have voted by 19-1 in favour of keeping video assistant referees (VAR) next season.
Wolves triggered a vote on the use of VAR in the 2024-25 season after formally submitting a resolution to the Premier League in May.
In order for VAR to be scrapped, 14 of the 20 Premier League clubs needed to vote in favour of doing so.
But only Wolves voted in favour of the proposal as they failed to gain any support from other top flight clubs.’

A better performance

We seem to play better against better opponents.

It’s just shite against Wolves, Leicester and the like.

Unfortunately that’s the teams we need to be beating.
6 pointers!

Which Micky Mouse league is that?
He won’t be utilised properly under Russell Martin so we might as well sell him.
Looks like we will take a £10m hit on him.

And we need some shots on goal from our Centre Forward not stuck on the edge of our box doing no look passes.
