Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread
at 12:28 5 Jan 2025

Five home wins in a row after being adrift at the bottom would be so insanely QPR, but like a few, not sure why I feel this, but for me this game is the banana skin match up.

1 - 2. Unfortunately and at least one of the goals, a bad defensive error.

Your best and worst ever QPR moment witnessed as a fan and as an armchair fan !!
at 12:19 5 Jan 2025

Am sure, many of us have moments that will stick with us for a very long time, in that Rangers did something quite incredible that we witnessed in person or on TV. Doesn't need to be a wonder goal. Could be a sending off, a moment of madness, an emotional response, something overheard from players. And likewise for worst ever moment.

I wasn't unfortunately well enough to watch the game at Wembley for the Zamora moment and quite a few stand out moments over the years when wasn't unfortunately in attendance. Finances and working away i only saw about two or three games in person during the Adel Season, not old enough for Stan.

Think my best moment for me was Kenny Samson hitting an absolute rocket into the bottom corner of the net. Was in East Paddock drenched and it was hard to see properly in those days on the terraces, particularly if you weren't 6 foot 3. But was great game, fabulous atmosphere, singing all game, a lot of who the frickin hell are you to the Arsenal fans and the like. And we were under a lot of pressure. The ball was laid off to Sansom in second half, I think by Sinton , and time stood still when Kenny reached the ball and struck it with arrow like accuracy, was one of those net rippling moments. Beauty personified !!

It was like an explosion of chaos, for minutes afterwards. I totally lost my nut that day. Haven't had a moment like that since.

Nearest in recent seasons was Jummy Dunne's swerving thunderbolt volley into the top corner for a 90th minute winner, but because am older, am bit more restrained in my reactions !!

It's hard for me to pin down worst ever moments but I unfortunately was actually going to most home games when we had Ainsworth in charge, as I felt we had zero chance of winning and zero chance of seeing any quality football from Rangers, who were more like a Sunday league team all this time. Most home games over the years I have felt, we had decent chances of winning against most teams at home, but that period was brutal !!

My best moment watching on the box was Mackie putting us two one up at City in the Aguerooo game and we had ten men at that point also. My mates boss was with us at the time, not a football fan, he had zero idea, why two so called adult professional men were wetting themselves something chronic and rolling around the floor giggling in fits just because a man kicked a ball between two sticks !!

Worst moment witnessed on TV. It's hazy for me as was in middle of exams at the time, so again wasn't at the game, but unfortunately that Milk Cup Final against Oxford.

We had done brilliantly to knock out Chelsea and Liverpool and only had lowly Oxford in between us and glory. I was certain that finally Rangers would get some silverware. Great wet lettuce. Never was a phrase more apt. The whole 90 minutes of moments for me was seriously depressing, like the players had been drugged or there was some kind of gambling scam going on. Was awful.

Only said it appeared aggressive as you said you treated Chelsea and Cole Palmer with disdain and then suggested I must have had issues with Chelsea myself.

No problems. Sometimes written word misrepresented easily.

Have a good day yourself.

Was not talking at Stamford Bridge.

I sometimes was in South Africa Road stand back then, and often as many Man Utd, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal fans as Rangers fans back then. That's what was mentioning.

The barbed wire at the Den and the mile long police escort to the trains was the worst for me in being treated like animals.

Best away three nil at Palace - Wilkins first game.

Honourable mention first game of season away at Arsenal - think we scored around 15 minutes - almost held on - Merson equalised in 89th minute.

Best home 4 - 1 v Spurs, four goal second half when all South Africa Road along with all rangers fans stunned.

Honourable mention two nil Fa Cup win over Arsenal in torrential rain !!!

Crikey forgot blimey how could I- new years day 1992 - Dennis Bailey Hallelujah 4 - 1 at Old Trafford v the not so mighty reds !!

Was at the game when we beat Chelsea 4 - 2. Falco, Ferdinand etc.

Only went a few games in the 80s.

Was different time and no segregation.

Donkeys years ago though so not relevant to today.

Went to couple Chlesea games at Stamford Bridge probably late 80s but can't remember exact dates. They don't mean anything to me.

Went with a Qpr mate and his brother was Chelsea and other brother West Ham. So obviously I beat the crap out of them !!!! šŸ˜

If that's what you are implying ???

I not your typical fan, don't really think about other clubs and don't have any particular issues with Chelsea either way to be honest.

Not sure how you come to that conclusion. Bit passive aggressive chap.

Take it easy. I just disagree with your opinion about Cole Palmer and that's that ...

You are seeing something i can't see at all.

Think the Chelsea link for yourself adds to it. Protest too much !!!

Losing five nil at home to Brentford is particularly crap !!!!

A day when temperatures are below zero also - what a joy ....

In such circumstances, it's easy to consider that the nature of your hobbies is perhaps something you may consider changing !!!!

Teams in the bottom half that played either only drew or lost.

So, a draw takes us 14th and a win on Monday and we are top of the bottom half, in 13th.

And if we are 13th, next three games away to the bottom two and then home to Sheffield Wednesday,

Never predict !!!

Cole Palmer is not arrogant - you just saying that because he is at Chelsea.

Nonsense.

Yes he is a brilliant player, but I think he has no nerves and he plays big games in the same way that he would a kick about with mates in the local park.

If you want a top Chelsea player that was arrogant - look no further than Drogba.. Palmer is not that.

Anyhow - off track.

Littler - fabulous story. Darts is not a sport that requires fitness clearly, but he has a talent, and he loves throwing arrows. Any kid that practices regularly from the age of a toddler, wants to win. Tiger Woods could hit a decent golf shot at four years old.

Wouldn't say arrogant at all. He showboats in some games but the tricks come off and also it works as a way of demoralising an opponent and darts is a one against one matchplay also. It's a tactic that helps him win games.

He also for someone so young, knows he has to play to the crowd as they are the ones that create the atmospheres for the tv companies to shed out cash to promote the games and the prize money that players earn.

I am likely to support him anyhow as I had Ā£50 on him at 9 to 4 some time ago, so thank you Luke !!

Rumour of Eze to spurs forĀ£64 million
at 20:16 4 Jan 2025

Eze is not going get much playing time at bigger clubs than Palace.

At Palace, he is the main man and it's where he lived as a child.

I think he is a home boy in that sense but added to the fact he is the big fish in the small pond at Palace, if he moves elsewhere in the premier league, he would be a small fish in a big pond. And to me, I think even if another club offer him much improved financial terms, I don't think he would go.

Therefore, the transfer has to meet the release clause.

Ā£64 million.

I don't think he is worth that price currently.

As for being a replacement for De Bruyne. Think that's very rose coloured specs...
He is a great player, but De Bruyne is world class. Eze is a fringe squad player for England at best.

How have things changed so drastically in last ten games
at 22:38 3 Jan 2025

Blimey chap...

Seriously....

Think you need a dose of reality

Who doesn't enjoy a run like we are on, right now.

Last four home games is four W's and 10 goals and only 2 conceded.

I disagree also that it's been basic football that has got us here.
Even the very top teams have a dose of pragmatism in gaining consistent results.

Unfortunately we don't play at the Camp Nou and we don't have Messi Ronaldo and Suarez up top.

We really need to change though because this run of games is just so so depressing.

Not seen yourself as a negative poster in the past Wilikins. Hope all is well, as can't follow your logic at all.

We are going through a good patch currently. What's not to like !!

Totally this.

Something about our gutter press that love it when they can grind a fallen hero into the dirt. If he starts dating, I hope the press don't interfere but sadly not confident that they can contain themselves !!

Embarrassing part of British culture.

Well deserved. Still not an adult in his years on the planet....

So impressive

I think he would do well at Man Utd - thinking about it.

The club are down the swanny, and Eze would be a breath of fresh air and could see himself getting game time there as things currently stand, otherwise would only move sideways in terms of club potential.

Guess we get down on our knees and pray !!

Eze not going anywhere for three or four seasons and then he will be on the downward spiral.

He has reached the heights of his ability team wise, and is unlikely to get any more caps for England IMHO.

Although, clearly a silky player, he does not possess enough goal contributions on a regular basis and any club that is likely to be in the top six of the prem, he will be a very peripheral player.

Spurs, are on the fringes of the top six, but even though I could see Eze doing well there, as has been said previously, they already have Maddison.

Can see him being a top Palace player over many seasons a la Zaha though

I think he is Ā£30 to Ā£40 million player on current valuations also. Sorry to put the dampners on this !!!

Could have been stood next to you Connell. Was there with friend and it was brilliant night and then got home, watched on sportsnight with my dad. No phones then or Internet. He didn't know the result when watching.

The two scorers that night, how differently their lives went after...

Sinton and Sansom.

But the phrase, "the heavens opened"" comes to mind.
