| Forum Thread | A conversation with Lee Hoos at 07:54 28 Nov 2024
I had the opportunity this week of a discussion with Lee Hoos prior to the Cardiff game who I have to say was very open and as a person very impressive. I have no doubt he has the club’s best interests at heart. My conversation was respectful but also quite direct. I said that the fans were still in support of Marti but felt that Nourry had not done well on recruitment and if there was a lamb for the slaughter the general feeling around me in the Upper Loft was it had to be him with maybe Belk to follow. I was also scathing about Celar but at the same time concerned for his welfare. It can’t be easy having 10000 plus people giving you a hard time. This was before his tremendous evening! Firstly Marti was a part of the recruitment process , nothing was thrust on him with regard to the first team. He was not however involved in the recruitment of development players . Having said that Marti has liked the look of Morgan and Bennie and has upgraded them. Lee also pointed out that Nourry was heavily involved in the January signings which made a significant positive impact. With regard to Celar he apparently is really good in training but his confidence is very low. Lees view was that as a crowd we should try to help him rather than chastise him. He appreciated this can be difficult but he could not emphasise enough the effect the crowd has on moral. I have been guilty of the being exasperated with a couple of players - Celar, Madson and Anderson especially!- but I hear that they are trying their best and cheer rather than a jeer may be of greater help. Lee was open to a suggestion that someone , maybe Paul Morrisey should provide an update as to the process and where we sit as a club at the moment. If he can do this I think it would be very helpful. Overall I have to say a lot of my faith was restored [ doesn’t mean we are not on trouble but I do believe people care a lot] and Lee really could not of been nicer or more willing. It will certainly be helpful if Paul can provide a statement and let us hope this happens. I guess despite perhaps thinking otherwise my impression is that everyone is pulling together and it is not an us or them. Regardless of what happens it was important to me to have a true sense that people cared. Also that Marti did not have players imposed on him was good to know. |

Has there been a worse striker in a QPR shirt? The man is absolutely useless. We have had some poor strikers but i really think he is amongst the worst. I feel sorry for him. He should not have been bought. It is lamb to the slaughter. He is probably trying his best but his best is League 2 and not his fault. Nourry and Belk or whoever are to blame for him. |
| Forum Thread | Nourry action....again at 14:11 17 Nov 2024
I think a lot of people think he is the wrong person for the job and would like to take some action to highlight this. I appreciate it will not change things in the short term but having him in charge of transfers in January sounds a disaster to me. My suggestion , which is very simple, is everyone who wants sends an email to Lee Hoos <lee.hoos@qpr.co.uk> simply telling him that Nourry should go. If people pass it to other boards and one gets a large number of people writing in , at least the club will know the supporters view. Despite what people say large numbers of opinions do have an effect.Plus if Hoos gets a thousand emails he will know as his computer will be filled with the opinion! |
| Forum Thread | What I don't understand at 18:57 9 Nov 2024
Rueben is putting in £2m a month, he can see that everything he has done has failed. He must be able to see that those he has put in charge of running 'the business' have failed. All of that is blatantly obvious. The question is why does he continue to rely on this team of people when clearly to a person they have failed individually and in their appointments. But still he persists. He allows for a 26 year old who is clueless clearly to come in. Who on earth in their right mind would allow that to happen. He can see surely we are shocking, he can ,if he botherseasily guage where the fans think we are. But still he does nothing. His management team have totally failed but he just sits there. Honestly what does he think he is doing. Beyond me. |
| Forum Thread | Mark Robins at 13:39 7 Nov 2024
I am sure this will be unpopular but on reading thru all the comments on this site I do not think it unfair to say the majority of fans have or are losing faith in the senior management and the players. Something has to change or you will end up with fan v players ie Jimmy Dunne the other night. If Nourry and others won't leave and it should be them , Marti is the only other option. Again I don't think it is unfair to say he does not appear to know what to do next and is floundering. Mark Robins is a proven Championship manager and whilst I see all the arguments for not changing manager it is also true to say 99% of people on this site think with some certainty that we will be relegated with the current set up. We can't the players, those in charge refuse to acknowledge their incompetence which leaves only one fall guy |
| Forum Thread | Kevin Mcgrath at 15:04 6 Nov 2024
Kevin has been around the club all his life. When we were in admin he was the one as Chairman who was the driving force behind our survival. He was Chair of the ladies and is a trustee of the community Trust. He was prior to semi retirement also a seriously success business man. On top of all that he is an extremely nice person who dedicates his life to a lot of charities. It is my view that he needs to be bought into a very senior role in order to sort out the organisational mess that just seems to go on regardless. I also believe he knows Rueben quite well. The club needs someone with his credentials who has a very long term proven track record in business and football. I think we as fans need to bring pressure on the club to consider this option. And yes I have known Kevin for many years and can vouch for the truth of all the above. All I need is people on this board to agree with the principle and I will then bring the sentiment to the notice of the club. If anyone is on other boards I would appreciate if you could repost this thread. Thanks |
| Forum Thread | It is like giving up smoking.... at 11:11 20 Oct 2024
I have supported QPR for over 50 years , have been a season ticket holder for more than 30, have put money in buckets but with a 5 hour round trip to get to Loftus Road i feel that the time has come to stop. The players are who and what they are and whilst i have carried on about the new signings being way below par for this division my real problem is the way the club is run and the constant mess over the past few years that those who make the decisions have created. There is little point in saying this one or that one is useless as pretty much collectively they have all let the club down. I think the current side is one of the worst i have seen and this has been created by a management team from top to bottom that are clearly totally somewhere between inept and inexperienced . At last Karl Ready etc gave their all. This lot are just annoying. So i am going to give it a go and give up my support and see if it is possible. A shame but as my wife said last night you just come home in a bad mood because of a football match , why bother. I just feel from Marti upwards we are currently a ship without a sail. So we will see if this addiction to QPR which has been for most of my life is as easy to give up as smoking! |

....for league 1. I have seen every game this season and in my view we are currently bottom of the league and that is our correct position. I have said for weeks that Madson,Anderson, Celar are nowhere near good enough for this league. Fox made two horrific errors to lose us the game but Madson was worse than him. Marti approved the buying of all the new players and is looking to play a system which the players are not good enough for and in addition we make terrible errors at the back are completely out of our depth in midfield and simply cannot score when given an opportunity. Portsmouth are very poor and we are worse. Whoever thought a number of these new players would make it in this league should be sacked. Last year Ainsworth was awful but the players as a unit had enough to survive. This year I don't think we have any chance playing this style with league1 or maybe even 2 players. Shout out fir Frey who worked hard all game. Madson is worse than Dozell which is frightening and Fox today must have had the worst game of his career. Personally i think we are getting worse each game and something has to happen fast. Last year Marti was able to with a limited but ok squad. This year he gas been a large part of bringing on players who simply are very poor. I really see no way out after 10 games. We are truly awful. |
| Forum Thread | It is the time of the season... at 09:04 2 Oct 2024
... when we have had a good look at other teams and can judge where we are in comparison. And the answer is are there 3 teams worse than us in the league? Hull are probably a top 10 maybe top 6 side and how many of our team would of even made their bench. Maybe a couple no more. To me in this division when you buy a player you are looking apart from football skills for speed , attitude and strength. Santos, Madson , Celar , Anderson [ especially he is dreadful] why did we buy them? I just dont understand our transfer policy. Who is in charge of it and why do they buy players who clearly are not suited to the intensity of the Championship. Celar people say is not suited to our system so why buy him. He looks completely useless to me. Unless something really is going on with Kohli why not give him a go , he cant be less effective than totally ineffective.. Anderson is a liability. Most games he makes a dreadful error and misses a sitter. Last night was a prime example. And compare Millar with Smyth or maybe don't. And Santos with any of Hull's back four . And the list goes on. Marti says keep believing and that belief can go no further than i hope we can stay up. It is so frustrating that every year we buy so many very poor players . Why is someone not answerable? |
| Forum Thread | What we know so far.... at 15:37 28 Sep 2024
Unfortunately it seems to me that we have once again signed a bunch of very second rate players who are simply not good enough for this league. Marti has his style, fair enough, but unfortunately the players signed have such poor ball control and are physically not up to task so we have a struggle ahead. Saito , he will be good for 10 minutes and then a championship defender will get amongst him and he is simply given a physical lesson. If he had good close ball control he might be okay but he hasnt. Virane described himself as a box to box midfielder. He is physically weak, has poor ball control and mainly passes backwards and is slow. Just not good enough for this league. Anderson will make 2 good passes and 6 bad ones. Physically too weak for this league and too slow. Frey is okay . Celar , really disappointing. Too slow, too weak, poor ball control. Just not good enough. Santos could be okay. Kid from Newcastle who knows . Today compare Cantwell with our midfield. He was fast, good ball control and physically strong. Madsen too slow, too weak, poor ball control. Dembele will have to learn he has to find space not expect the ball to arrive in space. Overall i think the defence is okay, up front we arent great but we can survive and then the midfield which is lightweight, cant pass, is slow, cant control a football and frankly is pretty shocking and cannot dominate. Whoever signed these players has for yet another season done a very poor job. They just arent up to it for the main part especially across midfield. It is going to be a struggle and whilst i might get shouted down at least Colback will match up physically to the opposition. Most of ours seem scared of a physical confrontation, back off and then when they get the ball either pass sideways, make a bad pass, get hounded down and definitely dont go box to box. Wrong players for this division i fear. |
| Forum Thread | Boycott at 11:00 22 Oct 2023
The fans need to get heard. We aren't being. The only way to support the club in my view is to ensure the owners and management know we have had enough of this ineptitude. Ruben has to get to grips with the situation and stop being so nice . For me a boycott of the Leicester game would let everyone know what we think. Not what i would support usually but drastic times call for drastic action and at least i will feel like people know what we think. The alternative is to turn up , watch a drubbing and start booing. I don't think what we have going on is the players fault it is the management from top to bottom and booing isn't going to worry them as much as stands being empty as they will think we are booing the players. GA says he never reads forums so he is completely oblivious of the fans view and a boycott would show him . |

We seem to be a lot better away from home. Reasons? And what to do to change that? |
| Forum Thread | New pitch etc at 08:35 10 Jun 2023
Well we have a great new training pitch and playing surface at Loftus Road , shame we don't have seemingly many decent players at any level to use them. Great we are doing this work but i just don't get how people think if you own a Ferrari you are a good driver. A wonderful investment i agree but you have to have a management team who can pick the players to use them successfully. Without this element of the equation all the infra structure work is just a waste of money. Our squad which seems destined to lose any quality it has left is at best seriously depleted and i fear all this money spent on ground improvement will be wasted without a new management team at the top. They have failed totally so far so why will there now be a miraculous change? Every day i am at a loss as to why Ruben does nothing in this area. |
| Forum Thread | The Times today at 12:07 31 May 2023
Interesting article by the owners of Southampton. Basically saying that they made a big mistake by thinking they could sit outside of the club and just provide money. It doesn't work and owners have to be in the thick of it and as they weren't that is the reason they got relegated. I wonder if they sell the Times in Malaysia............ |

I am sorry but Critchley was better than this. Hr really has no idea. Appointed to appease the fans and keep Les earning a crust for him and his mates. Ruben for goodness sake you are the owner man up |

It is being reported from trusted insiders that #RangersFC boss Michael Beale has been touted as #ChelseaFC’s top choice to replace the outgoing Graham Potter as manager. Chelsea will ask permission to speak to Beale shortly. |
