"We are not entertaining to watch and we are not winning enough to drive punters into the ground." We are certainly driving punters into the ground, literally! I don't recall one piece of play yesterday by us that I could call entertaining. Although for the final minutes after the goal saw us slightly more interested, we didn't threaten to score. As much as I hated the way we were under John Coleman, especially at home being two or three goals down, at least there was an entertaining attempt to get back in the game. So 45+ mins of entertainment under him compared to 10+ under McNulty isn't a good read. Can anyone tell me why, when we have a throw in, do we literally throw the ball away. When we don't throw the ball away and are nearer the opposition penalty area than the halfway line, do we not attack the penalty area in favour of the halfway line. What is wrong with giving the wing/er or back and encouraging him to beat his man and cross the ball. What is wrong with any player with the ability to dribble, to do so. Winning the Sutton United game in the last minute felt great but on reflection it only papered over another poor performance. Our current position of 9th is probably about as high as I expect from this team under this management, even though most seem to expect 6/6 from the next two home games. The club as a whole needs to decide whether to entertain a growing attendance or to perform to a dwindling one. It is possible to do both AND pick up points, I just don't think McNulty is capable of doing it. |

Thank God I won't be around to watch another 3 years of that garbage. |

Daggers weren't the only team awful to watch. In fact I'd rather watch them than us, at least they tried to create chances. Teams have worked out McNulty's tactics, if you can call them that. Just stand there and after a few minutes of passing the ball around, they will give away possession and leave massive gaps at the back. I feel most sorry for the 200+ fans who paid time and good money only to be rewarded with the utter crap served up today. |

I'd rather we played the Man Utd 1st team on Tuesday night than their under 9's. We'd have a better chance of a positive result 🤣 |

The first time I recalled any serious discussions brought about by the manager, around the lack of permanent club owned training facilities. 25 years on and the subject is still talked about and lots of hard work has allegedly been put in to locate such a venue. Are the club any nearer finding somewhere than they were 25 years ago? How much is it costing the club to use outside facilities? Why are playing fields seemingly unused and within a quarter of a mile of the club not being suggested, when upgrading can benefit not only the club, but the whole community. |

I have found most politicians to be self-serving w⚓s who are only in it for what they can get out of it. I wouldn't trust one as far as I could throw one, which at this present time isn't far at all. When all the dust has settled, this town will still be used as an immigration hub and that is so unfair on those already here. |

I also had a similar conversation about Hornets and how he thought the football club was dragging them down. He was shouting the odds to anyone who would listen and wouldn't even consider there was another side to the story. He said the best scenario would be for the football club to go bust, with Hornets taking over control of the stadium. Rush was an ill-informed, loud and arrogant person who tried to make up for his lack of height, by putting down everyone he disagreed with. I found him to be an obnoxious person. That said, I never wished ill on him and I send my condolences to his family. |

I would like the club to refrain from franchising the food outlets at Spotland as the prices are criminally high for the standard of food available. Back in the day when all visitors claimed our pies were the best they had ever tasted, you could see what they contained. The last one I had was very poor and I couldn't tell what was in it either by taste or sight. If a takeover happens then I would be delighted if they brought everything in house. I used to buy a couple of pies at the chippy and put one in each pocket, with no baggage I never got searched and enjoyed the food, with the knowledge that I knew what I was eating, saving £4 on two pies. It's not that I can't afford the franchise prices, it's more to do with having to pay more for far less quality products. |

I remember years ago going to Scarborough and with it being during winter, a certain lady supporter was denied entry. I would say she was in her mid 60's at the time and she was carrying an umbrella. The steward at the turnstile said she couldn't take it in, as it could be used as a weapon. Obviously a number of us were taken aback, considering there was segregation and the only people she could attack would be her fellow supporters. He refused to back down and she had to collect her umbrella at the end of the game. Fortunately it wasn't needed, but on a ground with no cover for the away fans, it was a ridiculous way to treat a visiting supporter. |

I cannot believe that Simon Gauge and his directors are treated with such distain and distrust by so many fans. But for them we wouldn't have a football club. They have admitted they are green and not experienced in running a football club but they put their own money into saving the club, yet for some people that isn't enough, they want their blood also. Too many people are overreacting and wetting themselves cos one **** stirrer decided to put out half a story that he can't back up. Perhaps the board see it as bizarre and not worth a response, but we can all be sure that when there is anything to say, the board will release a statement. I understand fans are worried when something like this is leaked, but if he knew about the 25% being paid, he MUST also know why, but has decided to let panic set instead because that's what he wanted to happen. When does he report on positive news? |

Is there a list of available managers anywhere? I can't find one here. One that is available just did a great job of rescuing Huddersfield and before someone says we can't afford him, at 74 I'm sure he is comfortably off and drawing a good pension. Money won't be his primary concern. With his experience it would be crazy not to at least sound him out. Too old? Just like a forward most fans want to keep for another season. Roy Hodgson would argue you're never too old. |

Depends whether you want to live in the real world or cloud cuckoo land. The cha nces of us returning to the EFL at the first time of asking are remote at best. |
| Forum Reply | Contracted For Next Season.. at 13:34 6 May 2023
It's frightening to think that a lot of posters want to keep hold of a soon to be 39 y/o striker whose legs have gone and an attacking midfielder who assists a couple of goals every 100 games. We need to get rid of the chaff(no offence) and as the wheat consists of Brierley and Lloyd, try to get Brierley back on loan after his sale and offer Lloyd a decent contract. He deserves it more than anyone. We are stuck with the contracted players, do once a new manager has decided, he can get rid either on loan, small fee or free. What we need most is a midfield engine a la Gary Jones. A player who wears his heart on his sleeve and would run through a brick wall for the cause. Actually we need another 10 like that. |

Let's face it, the chances of anyone investing the sort of money the club needs to be competitive next season are very slim. We don't want investors anyway, because if someone invests, they expect a return. We need a sugar daddy with more money than sense, preferably one with millions and able to prove it. The chances of that happening are 1 in a million, so we have to face facts and prepare the season based on supporters putting their hands in their pockets as usual. The Rochdale public don't care about having a football club and haven't done since the early 70's. Even during our successful time under KH crowds were nowhere near those of our very first promotion. If the club offered tickets for a fiver we would only have a half full stadium. The club employees do very little to engage the townsfolk and rely solely on the same staunch 2,500 regulars to keep putting their money into the coffers. Makes you wonder where all the Stockport fans suddenly appeared from! Perhaps the club spent time and effort to re-engage with the public. |

The squad we have at present would struggle in the NL. The standard of the top dozen clubs are on a par with L2. Don't let the last home game fool you, as Sutton were clearly already on the beach and the sending off weakened them further. Other than Brierley and Rodney there isn't a single player I would keep for next season. We need a complete clear out, backroom and club staff included. There are far too many staff employed to do the job that two thirds of that number used to do. Getting an experienced manager in place before the end of this month is essential or we will follow Scunthorpe United into oblivion. |
