Some funny reactions on here! Funny how he was a class player when he was on his way to Derby and now he's potentially a Ranger, they didn't want him anyway.

Cameron Humphreys from Rotherham, can't say I know too much about him but certainly good pedigree.

ain't no party like a Marti party
at 18:30 27 Apr 2024

In tribute to our esteemed leader and saviour, I think we all need to have the biggest Marti party next Saturday and I personally can't wait. Like Peter Hucker in the original post, I have been looking for these for the past week or so and have just found them.

See the link above for the Marti design that most seem to be purchasing. I just placed an order for 5 masks for some of us off to Cov! Share the link and let's see if we can get 2000 odd Martis taking over Cov!

Haha, I simply posed a question and wanted to discuss a story that was doing the rounds. So glad it isn't that cretin worming his way back in.

Marti for life!

I have to say that I was firmly in the Warnock camp as I just plain didn't see any way we would make a left-field appointment that would have required some semblance of football knowledge/scouting/data to be used.
Happy to bow to Lee Hoos and his 'succession planning' though.

I can't help but find myself enthused and excited by this appointment, even though it is a manager that I had never heard of, never seen one of his teams play, etc.

Imagine if, just this once, everything worked out for us on this. Imagine if the appointment of Marti Cifuentes turns out to be a masterstroke and we are the club that others look at with envy. I would just love for something to go right at this club, with no managers courting other jobs, boardroom sieges, Bosingwa signings. Just this once.

Ainsworth gone

Good question bosh - simplest answer would be that Neil will give us a plan again. Goals will be spread around the team if we have a system and make use of it. Neil also knows how to make use of a number 10 in the team so expect Chair/Willock to be utilised to full effect again.

Likely they will both look like completely different players again with Neil's arm around them.

It's Warnock...

Without any doubt, Neil Warnock is our absolute best chance at survival this season and I am more than happy with this.

E15 is spot on here.

Last season I was one of the weird few who didn't think that relegation would be the end of the world. Mainly because, for some time now, we have looked like a side that needed something seismic to happen to force real change. Clear the decks (this has been required for 3 years by the way) and start again. Many point to the examples of Sunderland and Ipswich who went down, cleared the decks and came back stronger (eventually)

That being said, both those clubs faced their tribulations in league 1 so it isn't ever an easy road, or potential solution to problems. We could quite easily end up struggling in the league below if a clear plan is not devised and followed through - something we have been unable to do since the 4 year plan days.

Sadly, staying up last season just feels like a stay of execution, with the axe firmly coming down on us this season.

Agree with last couple of posts, I find myself almost worried to go to Leicester game as it feels like we will witness a massacre of our beloved club. I also feel like I don't want to go, with everything going on anyway, and that really is depressing.

Genuine question though, if there was a boycott of the Leicester game, would it have any impact on the board/management? Would an 8-0 drubbing next week cause any fundamental change, other than the guaranteed end of Ainsworth's tenure?

Feels like the board are oblivious/ignorant to any of very obvious changes that should have happened years ago.

Beale... Or No Beale?
at 22:40 21 Oct 2023

Delete this thread, even though it is about a talking point that is going on in our fanbase currently, prompts an emotive response and has been commented on by a number of media articles in recent days?

There is a thread on here at the moment that discusses attractive mature women - but this is the thread that should be deleted on a football supporters forum?!

Beale... Or No Beale?

Just to be absolutely clear on this - I would prefer almost anyone to come in, instead of Beale. My first response was that I can't stand him and that hasn't changed in the past year.

But we are seeing more and more of us seemingly softening to the idea so thought it was worth posing it!

Beale... Or No Beale?
at 21:22 21 Oct 2023

Surely it is now a matter of when and not if we will see a managerial change. I can't help but feel sad for Gareth that it hasn't worked out, given how much he clearly cares. But what is even sadder is how far out of his depth he clearly is.

A question continually posed in response to moving Ainsworth on is who would come in to replace him? I have a suspicion that A previous manager from last year just might be so far up his own backside that he wouldn't worry about the backlash surrounding a return, in the hope that any success could patch up his now tatty reputation.

I have seen a number of threads that touch on the man known by many names around here, Michael Beale, but not a thread that directly discusses any potential return directly. There are a huge variety of opinions on this particularly emotive subject, so thought it might be good to air them here.

I find myself completely conflicted on this. On one hand I can't stand the guy for the ego, bluster and BS. I also struggle to fully see our board actually inviting (another) potential PR nightmare by considering his return. On the other hand, he is clearly a better coach than what we have currently...

As much as I love Warnock, he would be a short-term solution and I find myself longing for some sort of longer-term approach/planning. Wishful thinking at this club, I know.

Is it a case now of best chance at survival or maintaining some semblance of self-respect?

Surely Cannon and Willock/Smyth instead of Kakay and Adomah is a no-brainer. Looks like a side asking to be rolled over. Could be (another) long afternoon.

IF this is true, it would be an absolutely superb signing. Have seen him play many times for the US national side and he has been consistently very good. Honestly can't see it happening but would be amazing if this is true. Cannon would walk into most starting 11s in the Champ and is a huge upgrade on Kakay.

Today is on Ainsworth…
at 21:43 15 Apr 2023

I can help on point 2!

Spoke to Amos briefly today and he said he had a 'knock' and was out as a precaution. So should be back imminently. Armstrong and Clarke-Salter are also near enough ready to be back in too.

Hopefully they will improve things when back in contention. Surely can't get any worse anyway.
