Im not sure if this has been considered before ,but surely the club has to explore perhaps building what could essentially be a "mini" loftus road.

building a small stadium maybe that has a capacity of 2k, alongside other facilities like a bar as well as a conference/events centre that the club could hire out to other organisations throughout the year, could be a way of helping us further boost our income.

This "mini" loftus road could be a permanent base where the youth and women's teams could play at, so that would save the club money as they wouldn't have to do a groundshare anymore. You could also perhaps make the pitch into a 4G pitch as well, so it could essentially be used throughout the week, helping us to further boost income.

Ok, I'll won't comment on this issue until we get any further news about it.

I bring it up because I believe it's important and worth considering. I understand that you may not see it in the same way, and that's completely fine.

I'll leave it at that.

Councils will almost certainly refuse planning permission for things like what your proposing.

Its difficult to see us moving at least in the short term tbh. The only way we do find somewhere to build a new stadium is if we move outside the borough and thats something the fanbase will find difficult to accept.

I think Eze has a release clause in his palace deal which is reported to be around £68m, which is £60m up front and £8m in addons.

I think Tottenham have Eze as one of their top targets, so its looking very likely he moves on this summer.

Typically sell on fees include the whole transfer fee and not just the profit, so assuming its 20% and he goes for £68m, we would get £13.6m.

You've got to bear in mind that we've yet to fully see what effect Heston has on our finances, also got to consider the new tv deal and the fact we will get extra money from that as well.

Important to note that next years financial accounts will show an increase in broadcasting income cause of Sky's new deal with the EFL which started this season.

Frey has an option for another year I think.

Cook is our highest earner, so unless hes willing to cut his salary significantly, im not sure he will stay, id like him to personally, but its down to our finances.

I think I counted about 8 players who's contracts expire as it stands at the end of the current season, so depending on who we can agree deals with, i think it may well be another busy summer in W12.

I do personally think the issue isn't about capacity, but rather generating non-matchday income.

I do think in an ideal world, a new stadium with modern facilities would allow us to do that, but it's been very well documented just how difficult to find land in our part of the world is.

I don't think the fanbase wants to leave the borough, so that only really leaves some sort of revamp of Loftus Road on the table, whether it's a rebuild of some kind and we groundshare elsewhere for a few seasons or we do it on a stand by stand basis.

Ether way, I do think we need to find creative ways to increase our income streams so that we can become self-sufficient.

Just thinking about the training ground, why can't we put a small stand in and move the women's team and youth sides over from Hayes? You could also look to rent it out as well to clubs like Southall etc.

That would help us generate some extra income rather than having to groundshare with someone else.

A really good read that.

We're incredibly lucky to have Marti and Xavi, and hopefully he will be here for a very long time.

Yes I do remember us putting one in and they only gave Leeds and Hull the top tier on that occasion, and we sold the whole lower tier to home fans.

Makes we wonder why we don't do it now the lower tier is open permanently to home fans for league games.

I think Ipswich did have to move home fans from their seats cause the PL rule say you have to give 3k seats if it's above 30k or 10% if it's below 30k, whichever is lower.

I was just thinking there surely has to be a better way of getting that whole lower tier opened without the need to net off the first few rows.

I know a lot of it is not the clubs fault, but it does fustrate me, especially as it's revenue we're losing at the end of the day.

I do actually think in an ideal world, that bottom tier would be a good place to put the family stand in given the players come through that area.

I have sat in that area myself and it is quite a reasonable sized concourse and it is under cover as well compared to the Loft Lower so it could be a good place to have it imo.

I know they have to do it for safety reasons, but does anyone think its frustrating that we have to net off the first 3 or 4 rows of seats in the School End Lower when we know that they could be sold.

Surely it makes more sense to put some kind of permanent canopy between the top and bottom, so that those 3 or 4 rows can actually be released for sale.

Apparently Steve Cooper is interested in taking over there so I think he'd be the preferred option.

Marti - Glasgow Rangers.
at 13:53 17 Feb 2025

People seem to forget Marti and Xavi both signed a long term contract with us back in September, and if he were to go, then it's probably going to be Premier League club.

the buyout clause would run into the millions, and Rangers from what I know arnt in a great financial position, so that will probably put them off.

I think Marti will be here for the foreseeable future.
