Getting Edwards in straight away - now that's great work !!
at 18:24 18 Jan 2025

The first glimpses we had of him I wasn’t impressed

Today he blew that out of the water.

Looked really really assured, calm and composed.
Think I saw he was £3mill? Way beyond us which is a shame as he does look like might have a bit about him and will get better as he matures

As noted - absolute props to the club for getting him in early.

Kolli signs new deal!
at 21:50 17 Jan 2025

Brilliant news on Kolli

A player I’ve been championing for a long time and I really think we’ve got a player on our hands here.
I really think he will score some special goals for us and lots don’t realise just what skillsets this lad has in his box. He’s also not shy in putting in a shift and sticking his head in where it hurts. He’s also got a bit of pace.

Basically he’s second choice behind Frey already for me and Celar fourth choice even if fit

48 plus would probably be the line

50 more certain

52 an accepted safety total so 53 is always my target
My use of wins just to illustrate the point…. Would I take 5 wins and six draws? Of course!!

We are still a long way from being home n hosed and I’d like to see points racked up as quickly as possible while confidence is high. That starts with a win on Saturday at Plymuff please

I’m with you.

That’s why my median safety buffer is 12 points from the drop line.
It’s so easy to lose 3 games in a week at this level and lurch from safe to looking over your shoulder. Cuts both ways at bottom and top.

Fact is though that we need 7 more wins and it is yet another Marti miracle that we are saying that now compared to 8 weeks ago

Saito, stick or twist?
at 22:34 16 Jan 2025

Steak and Guinness diet
Few games between now and May where he runs tings
A couple of goals and assists

He’ll be a stick all day long

Without the above I’d say no but I think there’s a deal in principle with him in place anyway

Surprised no mention of The Cobden Club here as yet.

That was a den….

Some of my earliest and fondest memories would be the times in the LT District Club in Acton with my Dad and his motley crew
“Safest place in London to get a drink through on a Sunday” was their strap line….. you’ve still gotta stop and remember pubs shut at 3pm and re-opened at 6pm back then!!!!!

It really was separatist in terms of the sexes an all.
Women on the tables; men at the bar with the occasional drift to the fruit machine and us kids in a corner on Pac-Man or outside if the meteorological conditions allowed (ie anything apart from rain - which it did although the summers felt longer).

Every club had their own bag man knocking out hooky gear, snide Gallini or a book of fake LV’s
The place would be run with an iron fist by the Steward of the day, until he came up with three bars on the one arm bandit and the jackpot meant additional consumption of Courage Best with a snowball with Tia Maria for any lucky lady in the vicinity

Sadly these places are the most dying of breeds and if you’ve found one to join then fair play.
The last one I was a member of was run into the ground by a crooked Treasurer who sent us bust and the bitch didn’t do a minutes time, got a payback fine of a grand all despite coughing guilty to serious fraud charges.
Place was sold with proceeds divided by members

The one nearest me now was knocked down for flats with the proviso a new bar was built as the ground floor. They did that but never actually fitted a bar and the doors have never opened three years since finishing.

The only community clubs I see thriving now are the Somalians

Fishing?

Firstly I think MOTD has been crap for years and I rarely watch it these days - probably would if we were on it (Ha! Ha!)

Lineker has slowly turned into a caricature of himself. Dick.

Chapman I'm ambivalent on.

Now giving you what you want.... I find this insistence on women absolutely having to be included in aspects of the men's game an absolute farce.

8 pages

1 page is terms and conditions with the other 7 all about how he must embarrass Madsen too much

Great news, well deserved and pleased for him until that £10 mill bid comes in within 18 months

Is Rob Numan still with us?

It’s odd because a lot of people say those two were like kindred spirits but I found Rob brilliant but Tony much less so.

Crazy how so many comedy geniuses have these really dark places they slip into

I hope he’s gone upstairs to the pearly gates and Mr Harman and Mr Lee have gone downstairs to a much hotter eternity
Reasons with held for civility

He’s not a comedian I really got but he was a mover in comedy royalty circles of that time.

RIP to him

Where this really PISSES ME OFF is I’d give my right gohnad to see QPR away in Europe in a proper cup competition…… doesn’t matter if it’s a Hungarian fishing village team (in fact that might even be the preference)

That also brings superb extra revenue in

I know it’s “fixture congestion” but…… fcuk that…. I’d take that every time

Agree with your statements on Saito 1,000%

A very level headed way of saying he’s another player we’ve “bought” who is too lightweight for this level.
Maybe that can be worked on and I hope so as he clearly has qualities

I’ve watched a few games where his attacking runs have caused the opposition no end of problems but then you counter that with him just bouncing off opposition players and being run over in the simplest of fashion

He has ability and application so hopefully strength and nous can follow

Concur

But

This wasnt one bad day
Good few are saying he’s had decent games in our recent run.
I’ve not seen them.
He’s played us into trouble almost every game but we’ve got away with them.

I’ll say no more but it’s a scandal the lack of full back cover we have at the club matches only by the paucity of striker options we’ve had for years.

I’d like to pick this to pieces but it actually makes absolutely no sense to me so I don’t know where to start!!

Certain players can prove you wrong.
I was hugely wrong about Willock
Many were wrong about Smyth

Then there’s other players who you just know are garbage
He’ll be shoving nothing down my throat. Confident of that.

What gives me the right?
You do appreciate what industry he’s earning a living in I hope

I’ll give you the one incident that sums up just how shite Gashby is for me.

After he’s basically assisted Leicester to THREE goals.
He’s standing wide right unmarked in their half.
Acres of space and no pressure.
The ball is passed out to him from centre midfield along the ground on a pitch that is a carpet and, don’t forget, he’s in their half with no pressure.

Somehow he contrives to not simply trap the ball on the pitch, under no pressure, but lets it run out for a Leicester throw in.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury; THAT was simply the very last straw and he either needs sending back or being wrapped in gaffer tape and kept in the boot of Nourry’s car.

Total and utter crumbly dog shite
