New Year transfer window rumours
at 22:11 3 Feb 2025

Some brilliant Nourryspeak as well at the end of the club article.

"He has demonstrated at youth level for Brazil, and in his limited minutes with Fluminense, that he has the potential to develop into an interesting talent in the context of our inverted full-back profile’

Why do all these transfer deals only go through with minutes left
at 21:50 3 Feb 2025

I’m just glad it doesn’t include Managers.

Imagine a manager transfer window, we’d be bricking it!

Might be falling for this joke myself here but pretty sure that guardaparques would translate as Park Rangers…

Silly season!

Dunne off?

The fact that this thread is still going (as I add to it) is incredible!!

Or perhaps it’s a sign that it’s a slow January transfer window for us… which makes a change

I had the exact same reaction to that Madsen moment. Clearly, delighted at how well it’s all going right now and long may it continue, but it’s almost more stark when you see Jimmy Dunne shoving Alfie Lloyd (best game in a QPR shirt) to celebrate him winning a free kick and Madsen moving about as he does…

Well, that was just delightful. Lovely Saito goal. Lloyd’s recent performances have been crucial to us seeing out games.

Ashby though, he’s having a bit of a mare at the moment and Madsen Without Leave… less said the better.

Anyway, another blooming win! Would be nice to stick one on Wednesday for once and keep the wheels rolling!!

Thanks so much for all the replies. Lille is a great shout - easily doable in a day from London as well!

Thanks Brian! As a fan of tapas as well, Bilbao and San Sebastian is the weekend trip I have in mind.

Reckon, I'll steer clear of travel companies and book my own flights and accommodation and buy tickets directly. Far easier than I expected!!

Thanks Aston - ideal bit of info there, yeah I'll be looking for an Athletic game for sure. Good to know it's relatively straight forward once you're there!

A game abroad - any recommendations
at 13:00 16 Jan 2025

Hi all, thought I'd ask the LFW collective of any thoughts on a game abroad and if anyone had any recommendations of great sites/companies to book through and just as importantly to avoid.

It's been a long term aim of main to see a game aboard and as I have some Basque heritage (one of the Spanish lot that moved to Notting Hill) So I am thinking I'll get myself to an Athletic Bilbao game... anyone on here made that trip or similar to La Liga...

Haha, yes I've been waiting for this too. Easier to be negative... but intrigued to see the next WLS pod!

Very much so. One of the Luton podcasts described Paul Smith as pacy, direct and a bit of a bugger of a winger, which I think is a great description. He'd be such a pest to play against.

Perhaps not worthy of a thread, but I have to say this week whilst working I have enjoyed listening to a couple of Luton Town podcasts assessing their latest defeat at the hands of the Rs. Soothes the soul!

Although, these are not quite as enjoyable as listening/ watching the fan meltdowns when we gave the Champions of Yorkshire a walloping late last season.

As you were!

Yeah I had to comment on the article on BBC sport, which I don’t normally do, querying that we rode our luck.

Also mentions how McGuinness’s last minute header grazed the bar, when it simply didn’t.

Chris Peddy peddling a narrative that didn’t happen.

Same here. I thought we were down because I couldn’t see us suddenly getting 4 or 5 results on the spin and yet here we are…

He was. His wiki says ‘Hammersmith’ as his place of birth, if there were any allegiances maybe they could have been to the Rs

I liked his singling out of Lloyd too - who put in a decent shift, if only he could work his feet out a bit more…

I certainly know now, Chef!

My personal fave is when Warnock would occasionally call him TARBS, like his actual name was Adel Tarbuck!!
