England v Switzerland Quarter Final match thread

England going to the final it is

Got help us with a France v England final

But I back England to get past the semi regardless of the opponents, call it blind faith, maybe intuition

With the teams left in the tournament, I hope it is Spain v England Final

Spain will force England to play, which maybe is a good thing, but France v England can be a dire affair

Looks like men vs boys?

I don’t think any QPR player is over the age of 21?

Isn’t it sometime not long ago we read reports from northernr we have had one of the the largest staff wage bill and number of employees of all Championship clubs, which begs questions if there’s a symptomatic workplace overstaffed and inefficient deployment of resources?

Now, even our brill’ young lad Nourry is CEO cum DFO cum ChatGP

Is this not a good thing? Obviously wage bill needs to be reduced significantly, that will mean weeding out “freeloaders” and increasing productivity?

Spurs paid £40 million for 18 yo who just played only championship football for a championship team?

What are they waiting for to get Eze from epl club Crystal Palace?

England international, at his peak or near his peak of his career, only £60 million for a release clause? And you are not buying potential, he’s proven.

With such valuation, Eze should be eze-ly a 100 million player at the minimum

He is 18 and hasn’t played in the epl

Spurs will buy for 40 million than either loan him out (to championship} or put in the reserves
, don’t think he will even be on the bench?

So that’s 2 years going into his 8 year contract then by 20 plays in UEFA conference league (or not) but rake up cup games, then by 21 sold for 100 million to man united or Chelsea for his growing potential

Then he will be in England squad because he is from a “big” team without playing many games but the England manager chooses “big” players from “big” clubs with “big” potential

Crazy modern football if this is his trajectory but wish him good luck

Were the players performance poor or the manager’s selection, tactics and game plan poor?

The two brilliant moments were created by the players themselves and not the manager

So is Southgate lucky?

If you wondered why and how Hitler rose to power, just look at Trump.

Propaganda before. Social media today.

The public consumed all truths, half truths and lies - and then decides.

The People go in with their eyes wide open

Not sure if the Soviets were your friends Allies in the second Great War , Stalin danced with Hitler, shared Poland before Nazi Germany decided to invade Russia. That turned Stalin against Hitler, and the “race” to Berlin was a draw with the American and British. And after the war that supporting friendship quickly disintegrated into a 40 years Cold War. It ain’t over yet. Having Biden or Trump as the leader of the greatest power isn’t very positive for the future of world politics. What can we do?

New striker incoming?
at 22:23 29 Jun 2024

Kelman

- loan with option to sell?

- loan out cost nothing then release if no good?

- loan with hope that he would turn good?

I think Kelman’s here for 3 years? 26 games 0 goals. When out on loan, he’s not scoring loads (77 apps 12 goals in league matches) and not showing us yet there is a player in him (unlike Chair for Stevenage, Eze for Wycombe, Dieng for Doncaster)

This recruitment seems a failure but with Cifuentes and Nourry they don’t need to hold back (see Dozzell, Kakay). contract extended - another year option? Seen some potential?

Dieng’s Doncaster loan was his 5th with us before he made his breakthrough. So there is yet a chance for kelman to finally show his worth. This is his 5th loan out. It must be his final year, watershed or wash out.

But would you agree “everything” in our performances was down to the manager when Cifuentes took over. At least for me 100%

I can recall just here how we felt about our players no so 7/8 months ago

Perhaps the same for England players?

New striker incoming?
at 12:53 29 Jun 2024

Dykes injured, so probably out for the start of the season

Kerman loan to Orient for a year

So only Frey and Armstrong as recognised strikers

Just thinking is it not implausible a new striker incoming?

Not sure about Nardi

Played 8 games all of last season including 5 league games

Not played more than 30 in a season for last 4 years

Is it a Gemini AI algorithms selection? How can it tell if he played so few games if he’s any good? Clean sheets, shot stopping, aerial flap, ball to feet?

We are still picking up players from the others’ bench. And if he is going to be number 1 what about Walsh?

I want to be positive but the above does not inspire

Hope to be proven wrong, good luck Nardi, I wish him success at QPR
