3 Questions 1) Who do you think will win this years PDC? 2) Who do you want to win it? 3) Who's your least favourite player? For me: 1) Littler 2) Johnny "The Ferret" Clayton 3) Luke Humphreys (not sure what it is, just can't take to him and find him smarmy)

Worst Saturday for Sport ever. I feel like I'm on edge. Outside of the regular football season at least you have some other sports on i.e. golf or tennis. But today has been an absolute shocker. Almost, just almost went and finished off painting the bathroom ceiling the Mrs has been going on about for the last 3 years. But decided to watch the Darts instead with a few [Post edited 28 Dec 21:19]

Set up to track all (if any) ins and outs from the club today For me the CM has to be a priority. We need at least one baller in there that's creative and looking to get us on the front foot to play alongside Franco. Also another AM or striker |

What is it about Matt Grimes that gets so many negative comments. I hold my hand up, I'm one of the supporters who is seemingly frustrated by him, but struggling to really pinpoint why. This is a player who should be edging on club legends status and have a statue outside the stadium. He's been with us nearly 10 years (in January) and is going into this fith year as captain. He's fit as a fiddle and clearly takes care of his body through being a professional athlete. Every time I hear him speak he seems like a very mature and well respected guy representing the club professionally and with maturity. Yet Despite all this I still have this yearning to see him moved out of the team. I don't know if that's because :- A) he's a victim of his own versatility and is told play numerous roles by numerous managers B) he's a victim of the 'Swansea Style' and isn't suitable to play the way we have wanted to play over the last 3-4 years in particular. C) He's just not that good? (We did sign him from League 2 after all) It's just an enigma I can't quite get my head around. I want to love him... But can't (but I do massively respect him). What are you hoping/expecting to see in the league cup fixture on Wednesday? I personally think we'll see significant changes from what took the field yesterday to get minutes into other players and save the legs of those expected to play a big part against West Brom on Saturday. I'm expecting the starting XI to look something like:- Vigaroux* (unless another keeper is confirmed in time) Naughton Abbey Pederson Tjoe-A-On Allen Grimes Fulton Abdulai Bianchini Vipotnik Hopefully see Josh Thomas get some minutes too and see what he can offer. |

I normally love looking at the threads on here at this time of year, getting excited for the unknown of the season ahead. But just not got the mojo yet this summer. Looking at the first page in this board today (excluding pinned posts) there are 33 topics, 8 of which are directly linked to Swansea football. Those 8 are:- 1 about a new kit 2 about ex players 1 about pricing 1 about a friendly match and post match interview with Manager* 1 about potential friendlies in the future 1 about a possible new striker* 1 about our squad strength* So of those 8 only 3* I am finding relevant to give me any sense of excitement next year. What's happening? I think the couple of new boys signed last week are good signings and will strengthen the squad, but we're still looking at a mid-top half team at best next season. Maybe the board/owners are content with that. But if we want to make a real go at it and look to finish in the top 6 to have any chance of promotion, we need 2-3 QUALITY signings in soon to kick start the season and find some early momentum to get the confidence up! Just too add - this isn't a dig and the posters/moderators/contributors to this forum, just how I'm feeling with so little coming out of the club at the moment. Seems to be a real lack of ambition! in order (in my opinion based on Duff continuing with 5 at the back with Wing backs) (1) Commanding and experienced Centre Back (2) A strong box to box CM who has vision to play forward (3) Additional Striker to compete with Yates, Cullen and Kuharevich. [Post edited 27 Aug 2023 12:42]

Great Scott! Good news everyone, just come back from May 2024 and can confirm we are once again a PL team. Just witnessed us beating Middlesbrough in the playoff final after finishing 6th in the table (we won 2-0) No double over the Diff this season though, a boring 0-0 at Legoland followed by a 2-0 win at home in March. Oh and Cardiff are relegated. Put your house on it!! |
| Forum Thread | Tis the season to be... Optimistic at 14:51 27 Jun 2023
I'm really optimistic about this season with the change of Manager, Chairman and Sporting Directors all coming in. It feels like a fresh approach which I'm really quite excited about like when we had Martinez, Rogers and Laudrup taking the reigns Time will tell if they can walk the walk but I've certainly been pleased with what I've heard so far and how they've conducting themselves in the RM to Southampton debacle. So what expectations/targets do you have for this season? Mine are detailed below in terms of how I think we should be setting the bar. Of course a lot can happen in a football season (injuries/sales etc) but from where I think the club may be going I would set out 2023/2024 expectations as follows :- Automatic Promotion = Exceptional (A*) Promotion via Playoffs = Outstanding (A) Playoffs (not promoted) = Good (B) Top Mid Table (7th-11th) = Adequate (C) Bottom Mid Table (12th-16th) = Disappointing (D) Avoid Relegation = Not good enough (E) Relegated = Dismissed (F) Thoughts? |

Appears to be close to coming in. Anyone know what we can expect if the deal gets over the line? Formations? Playing Style? Tactics? Does he favour developing youth or bring in experience? What signings would be likely? |

I've not been anti-RM at all (up until now) but the time has come for him to go. The football is as boring as the Sousa days but at least he built it on a foundation of a solid defence with a view of nicking a 1-0 win. I have no idea what RM is trying to do other than just keep hold of the ball. If the Swans hierarchy are worried about the cost of sacking/replacing then fear not... I'll do the job for absolutely free and guarantee I'd get more out of the players that what he's getting at the moment. Absolutely shocking. |

Given our start, do you think Kaplan, Levien (& Birch) are still looking to move Baston and Ayew on? Surely they must be tempted to keep the duo and see how we fair with a possible return to the premiership at the end of it? That is supposedly their ambition after all. With the sale of McBurnie and DJ, and other High earners off the payroll and still receiving parachute payments surely their books can be balanced this season? I know every player has his price, so if something ridiculous came in then of course they'd sell... I guess my question is would we still consider selling well below market value just to get them off our wage bill? [Post edited 26 Aug 2019 9:54]

Come on then everyone... How do you think we'll fair today? Since the opening away day fixture Birmingham have struggled on the road losing heavily 3-0 against Fforest in the league and same scoreline against Portsmouth in the Cup. They'll try to improve defensively so I can see them coming today and playing it tight for a draw, if we can get the first goal it may open them a bit and hopefully grab a second late on. I'm going for a 2-0 Swans |
| Forum Thread | We are (joint) top of the league, we are (joint) top of the league at 22:50 22 Aug 2019
Well, we're 8.69% through the regular season and we're looking in a pretty good place, far better than many/most anticipated before the league kicked off. Whisper it quietly, but if we can keep Borja and Andre, I think we'll be a real force to be reckoned with. Feel that if we keep them, we have to take the opportunity with both hands, cause neither will be around next year if we're still in the second tier. I genuinely belive we could go up this year if those 2 chip in with 15+ goals a piece. |
