A year after the Grundy Pistols thing I was having a day off school and put the telly on late morning and there was Grundy all on his own presenting a schools geography programme in the middle of a huge empty quarry in the middle of nowhere, Cumbria. And since then I’ve always thought Cumbria, that’s where you get sent when you’ve been bad. Mark Hughes:What a fcuking rotter!

Can’t be many times where a character in a film gets killed and then a TV show spin-off is made of him - which ran and ran - Dixon of Dock Green.

Subs last night....
at 07:53 5 Feb 2025

Agree with what you’re saying re: Lloyd & Kolli. To add to it I’d say best use of Lloyd as a sub is when we’re ahead and the oppo are chasing the game - Alfie’s pace on the counterattack then comes to the fore.

As for Colback, I think the bloke’s experience is vital in an increasingly young squad. Lots of talk of letting him go. I’d keep him for at least another season. He’s the perfect player to bring on and put a game to bed. Except last night he didn’t just put the game to bed, he read it a story and sang it a lullabye.

Another positive … if it’s a really boring end of season 0-0 or a game where we’re already being tonked 3 or 4 nil you can watch porn or listen to a random old tune on YouTube instead. I suppose you can do that at home as well but it’s not the same.

Seems like a long time ago now but weren’t we wearing the grey poupon shirts in the glorious cup victory at Cambridge?

Edit: of course we weren’t - too close to Cambridge’s amber

I had one of these tracks on a home-made mix tape under their original name the Dust Brothers before they changed it. I can remember the early/ mid 90s more lucidly than I can remember last weeek. Eek!

Still not sure about them. I suppose with enuf sparkle up yer schnozz it sounds okay. But then most things do. Stadium house.

The main thing I remember about 1995 is it was the year after 1994. That was the great year … Massive Attack, Portishead, Shadow, Krush, Gravediggaz. Jungle and not yet drum n bass. I spent most of 95 still listening to 94. Not to disreprect 95 but that was how it was for me. The internet/ arce intelligence says this Akasha tune is 98 but that’s bollocks. My most played 1995 tune.

Aah it’s all coming back now …
