I agree but when TAR fizzes the ball across the face of goal we need at least on forward arriving on time to pop it into the back of the net. |

We have 5 weeks to get this semi final packed out. A clear short term marketing plan with some attractive pricing needs rolling out ASAP. How many tickets do Spennymoor need? 250 or 3500? I hope we are in contact to sound them out and find out. The town has 21 000 residents there or thereabouts i am sure they will sell quite a few with Wembley the next stop for the winners. |

Kairo is still young / a bit raw, learning and developing. He is pulling on a blue shirt and has my backing but there are two Kairo Mitchells. The one we like is more direct and gets powerful shots away that are on target... that gives him the maximum chance of a goal.. On Saturday against Alty he did win a few arial duels as well and generally put himself about when he came on. The Kairo that's on his own up front and nothing sticking, not bringing runners into the game and generally looking a little short in several number 9 departments is not such a fan favourite.. A conundrum indeed but one that can be sorted with Jim playing the lad to his strengths. [Post edited 3 Mar 17:27]

Will be a great occassion... lets hope that it is a celebration at 5pm on the 5th April. Perfect draw, playing at home in front of what should be a bumper crowd is something to look forward too. Spennymoor will be equally as up for this one though and i have nightmares still about Telford and more recently FC United!. As the OP stated - Winnable. |

So much better from Dale.. Intensity, goals and a clean sheet. Looking forward to the semi final now v Spennymoor at Spotland. Alty looked a really good side and but for a wonder save and some last ditch heroics on another day we are looking at a draw and penalties. Hoping they take this blue print from Saturday and keep it for the remainder of this 24/25 season. Excellent home debut from J Bird capped with a goal. [Post edited 3 Mar 15:39]

24th Feb - I am happy to stick with Big Jim (for now) and see how the next few weeks play out. Lose on Saturday with NO shots that the keeper has to save and I might change my mind on Sunday 02nd March. I am sure Big Jim will know its a results business.. More than anything clear the minds of the players.. reset and go on Saturday knowing its win or bust. Two wins in the next 6 days puts us back on the rails at least. |

Yes and the answer is goals.. Score 2+ goals a game and have a strong no nonsense pairing at centre half. Pace on the wings helps.. Plus a direction of travel that is predominately forward... and positive. Get the ball quickly into channels with willing runners who can cross a ball into forwards who are hungry to pop the ball into the net. Stockport / Wrexham and Chesterfield all had a we will outscore you mentality and it showed on the pitch and it showed in the league table after 46 games. |

It was more than that… Ripping the seat from the toilet in the first instance causing damage that now the club will have to pay to repair. Unless the person woke up this morning and in embarrassment has returned to the Shay to apologise and refit / clear up his damage. Thing is they would not have the guts or the realisation what they did to go and do this. Yes this was Macclesfield part 2. |

Our shooting is woeful.. I saw one insipid soft header (Mitchell) on target second half straight into the keepers arms. No other keeper save. It was either.. 1. Shots blazed over the bar (by impressive distance) Or 2. Shots hitting defenders legs. Part of the problem is we are tortoise like in transition allowing opponents to easily get back and defend deep in numbers. Halifax keeper had not one meaningful save to make all night. Do the players reflect and actually work on hitting the ball with purpose between the goals on target as yet another game slips by. |

Idiotic and shameful. Don’t come back to any Dale game YOU are an absolute disgrace to the club and yourself TBH. How come this element of scrote has leeched its way onto Dale. Hopefully the perpetrators will be identified / named and shamed and then banned for life. Tools of the highest order. |

16 league games this season when we have scored 1 or less goals. Astonishing!! Hendo the shining light last night how he is only being deployed in this 5 minute cameo role beggars belief. Halifax not great…. Dale no better.! Goals = playoffs not X stats. Barnet have SCORED 66 - Dale 27 less… [Post edited 20 Feb 7:23]

James …….. A few times you have posted this seasons target was 7th or higher. In other words a play off place. Where have you seen this because I cannot remember this being a thing set out by the club or the team management. I may have missed .. I am curious. Whilst this will be an improvement on 23/24 it’s a funny target to set 7th place. I hope we get on the front foot tonight BTW right from kick off and for 90 minutes plus.. |

Win this and 90 minutes from a Wembley final. Agreed a marketing dream that will be played out in under 2 weeks time. I am sure the club will go into overdrive this week with its promotion of the game and its importance... |

Agree 100% and alluded too on another thread. Would like to see the manufacturers instructions for the best storage conditions for maximum shelf life. If they have been there since the Oldham game that is another CBA job to add to the list. If taken off on the day around midday I can just about accept why they are left where they are. |

Jim is going nowhere and that’s a worry after the borefest of yesterday. To cautious and sooooo slow in the build up from the back. Yesterday both East and Gilmour holding hands close to the edge of our own box. Waller and Hogan (take your pick) both guilty of the ultra safe short ball when TAR was 35 yards further advanced, in space and would have been a more positive ball forward. When we do some nice stuff we don’t shoot. When we fizz the ball across the goal line it’s aimless as we never have a forward anticipating the tap in opportunity. Give the players 3 days off I say - reconvene Wednesday morning for some soul searching. Train hard Weds and Thursday and travel south On Friday. We need to freshen this up and quickly as much more will test the patience of the hardiest of Dale fan. Bloody awful yesterday. Jim and the players all need to step up and offer so much more. |

HT 0-0 Ebbsfleet are bad. Dale not much better. If they can up the tempo and be more direct (and shoot more!!) we should still win this easy enough. Dale have been slow ponderous and too negative first half.. Lacking in a leader on the pitch it’s a terrible watch so far. |

Great news indeed. Well done to all involved - great initiative that should reap rewards down the line. |

I actually thought we should have beaten Forest Green home and away. Common theme is that we out footballed Forest Green over 4 halves of football and didnt score one goal. One for the analyst that one. 180 minutes could easily have had 6 points and our overall haul was 1 point and we scored NO goals. Watch the Oldham highlights immediately followed by Forest Green home and away. Thats 270 minutes of nice and pretty but ineffective football. Shooting is wasteful (High or wide or both) or powder puff. Simply put we just don't look hungry enough when we get on the bigger stage and our finishing reflects that. The drill the forwards do in the warm up every pre-match is a waste of time if they will not shoot on target when they get a chance in the actual match. [Post edited 6 Feb 18:19]

Just watched the highlights and its shows clearly that we are not ruthless enough. Mitchell 4th minute pulls the ball wide off target. Good work by Dale a few mins later, ball fizzed across goal, nobody on hand to stub a toe on it. The great run from Okeke.. skied over. More good work in the half but no shots that actually got passed any defenders legs. Really committed defending admittedly. Second half the only shot on target that the keeper had to "save" was Allarakhia and that was from an acute angle, TBF Tarryn did well on another day maybe it goes in. Mitchell header flys wide again not on target. Terrible night at the office - Cant wait to see how the players respond on Saturday now but more errant wasteful shooting will not win us many football games. Too slow in the build up and shots not off quickly enough, that must be the reason so many efforts last night hit the legs of defenders. |
