What do we think?

Do you think Taylor will start or Davies will come back in? Having just returned from injury , do you think Davies will be given a rest?

Personally, I'd go with this and hope for the best:

I actually found it difficult to chose between Canas, Shelvey or JDG to play alongside Britts. Part of me wants to play JDG as I think he suits the way we play better and he is our set-piece guy, but I'm also warming to the idea of trying Canas and Britton together to give us a busy/agile and solid shield in the middle of the park - no overambitious hollywood passes from that combo, just hard work, discipline and supply to the creative players. Then again, I do see Shelvey as having a bit of extra something that can give us some creativity in there and so something tells me to go with him; Tough choice though.

Even the bad times were good.

Maybe we should play Andy Legg, he knows how to score a classy goal against Stoke.

Taylor or Davies?

We need to control the midfield against a physical strong team as Stoke. When we use Britton, we defend waaaaay to deep - making it extremly hard to counterattack. We need Canas and Shelvey.

The Link-up between Pozuelo, Lamah and Bony was outstanding in Russia. And Routledge has been very weak this season.

Tremmel

Rangel Chico Ash Davies

Canas Britton

Dyer Shelvey Lamah

Bony

I'd start Pozuelo ahead of Shelvey but he looked out on his feet on Thursday.

We didn't defend to deep in the 2nd half last night then?

Britton and Canas a tad further forward may work well if persevered with for a few games, with either Jdg or Pozuelo in the AM role, although I'd never try and 2nd guess ML, to be honest.

That's my team for Stoke also.... (Caveat for Dick: Not necessarily what Laudrup will pick)

Might it be worth having a bit of muscle and height in there for Sunday?

I think we should welcome back Jon Jo and get behind him. Stoke would seem the perfect side for him to play against and do some damage.

I would like to see Canas and Leon together at some point though, I don't think it would be as negative as some make out on here.

Interesting that nobody seems to be going for JDG for this game, especially seeing he scored twice in the same fixture last season.

Where I agree Canas has more dog in the midfield , JDG carries a goal threat and is excellent at set pieces. He has to start in my humble opinion.
