Yeah,it shows just how sport can turn around and make you look adickeahd.

Last season a basket case of a club rudderless, they now seem motivated, fit and playing for the manager.

We all thought they d miss suarez -not at all and he is now assigned to the bench and will be when his ban finishes. Rodgers has really made a mark for all managers by not taking the shite from suarez and his ilk and its to be admired.

Our game agaist them will be the toughest of the season and were gonna all have to be on fire to get something out of the game.
We need it to be feisty and get in their faces right from the off;if we do, its gonna some night

Mon,
Thanks.Pity the likes of clase haven't the grace to give a decent response. However,Ive not
used the word proven and it is of course early days but they are our next opponenms and people up here are coming round to Rodgers.
Its well know I DESPISE Rogers and believed him charlatan but Ive enough about me to admit Im wrong and I am.
Its pitiful and sickening to see supposedly intelligent men look for any excuse to act like a bignob on here.

Liverpool WILL be one of our hardest games-harder than united if we are not up for it.
I believe the team Will be and can get a result.
FIN

Harder than United? No chance. United had Van Persie, who scored 2 goals that most other players would have had no chance with. Liverpool don't have anyone of his quality.

Liverpool could well beat us, but if the score is 1-4 or similar, I'll be stunned. I'll come on here and eat humble pie if so, but I just can't see it.

I ll take your comments JS but from what Ive seen its my opinion they Will OR COULD BE.
RVP was given too much space and respect I believe as were the whole Utd team.
Liverpool got into their faces and upset him and he was negated.

I hope they come down and go back pointless and we ll all have humble pie which goes very well with home made custard.
Im grateful for you comments. Im now off to Wales

I didn't watch United play Liverpool, but from what I've read, Van Persie's problem in that game was that he had no service whatsoever.

I don't think we afforded him too much space or respect at all. He scored a brilliantly improvised first goal, before beating defenders with great skill and then hit an unstoppable shot for his second. He won't do it every game, but is capable of doing it at anytime.

Nothing I've seen from Liverpool so far suggests we should be more worried than we usually are. Top teams in this league (the Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea) are games we go into more in hope than expectation and any positive result is a bonus. The teams below them in strength (Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle) are the type of games we should be aiming to win, especially at home.

I don't bet, but if I did, I'd be putting money on us to win on the 16th.

Man United were overall the better team against Diverpool, though Diverpool scored the most goals.

I think Liverpool were lucky to hold on to get that win. RVP missed a few that on any other day he would have slotted in.

Having said that you can see they are turning the corner and Brendan is building something good. Dunno about title contenders though, it's way too early to predict anything and there are teams that are having to adjust to new playing conditions. (Man U & Spurs especially)

Until then we're gonna live in a crazy world where Cardiff are a top 10 side, Liverpool are top of the league and Man City are shipping goals to vastly inferior teams.

Give it till January, let the dust settle and normal service will resume. By the time the seasons ended no one will remember September 2013!

I don't think anyone is saying that. All I'm saying is they are far from the most difficult team we'll face this season.

2 games against them at the Liberty and they're yet to score, plus we beat them 3-1 at their place last season, if you have to use historical examples.
In the last 2 years, our record against them is:

W2
D2
L1

Not too shabby.

Ah well, for what its worth, I hope Liverpool s start turns out to be a false dawn .
I count my son as being very intelligent and down to earth and he reckons ,as we all know a lot can happen between now and the end of the season.
They have bought massively and this will be Rodgers true test to gel them.

I disagree with js about the RVP goal/s as we could have been tighter. Liverpool defenders really did wind him up as they did e rest of the team. A different Liverpool team from last season no question.
Still cant get y head around the fact so man hate Lierpool FC above all others ormaybe I can.

No harm, no foul, I was just responding to your post where you signed off with this:

"I don't bet, but if I did, I'd be putting money on us to win on the 16th."

So confident I thought that I would point out what happened the last time we played them (regardless of the fact that it was away from home - it is still all the same players, and they have had another 6 months to get used to each other).

A'right gents? I'm not sure if yours is the type of forum which allows other fans on here without grief (some forums are friendlier towards 'outsiders' than others), or if the mere utterance that I happen to support Liverpool is enough to send people rushing for their pitchforks. Hoping you're the former, do you mind if I ask a few questions for a little match-preview I'm doing?

1) Fun fact: Liverpool have won more points than United since January. We've scored more goals than any other Premier League side, too. From the outside, does it look like Liverpool are improving?

2) Swansea has established itself as a Premier League club quite comfortably: Trophy in the cabinet, improving on previous league positions, in European competition, and a place where sides don't particularly like to play. Are you content with that, or do the club's ambitions stretch further? Top four and beyond?

3) I've been a fan of Rodgers from the off, but it has taken time to convince some fans he's not just a few smart words with nothing to back it up. What are your views, having been managed by him, now you see him at a different club?

4) How do you think the match will pan out? Not just scores, but what are you weak points and which of our (many) weak spots will Laudrup instruct your boys to attack?

Just so I know, what team are you likely put out?

liverpool are no more or less title challengers than we are relegation fodder at such an early point in the season . So they've won 1 - 0 three times against UTD which is always like a derby and they beat stoke and someone else well done to them but they hardly looked like world beaters.

It'll be a tough game no doubt but one we are more than capable of winning but then again we might just draw and lfc are easily capable of winning. They aren't the force they once were & I think BR is slowly turning them into chelski - lite with his signings. and for the record if you think he's been tough on Suarez then your dreaming Perchy. He backed him to the hilt on TV and I'd bet behind the scenes whispered into the lads ear everything he wanted to hear. I think the fact is none of the really big clubs with money were too interested in the guy.

Just wait until he signs a contract extension guaranteeing a hike in wages just to pacify the toad. I couldn't really care how lfc fans view their team it has no bearing on me but from the little I've seen they aren't about to challenge for the title but if they keep throwing money at the problem then they might challenge for the top 5 or 6. As for winning the league.....they're not still that deluded are they???

As for the swans I'd be delighted if we got close to last seasons achievements - take a few Big scalps, a decent cup run in Europe and beat cardiff home and away that'll do me

Most fans in here underestimate Liverpool.

Rogers have made Liverpool into a well organised unit. Something they haven<t been since Benitez.

They are better then Arsenal and Tottenham this season and end up being nr.4.

With Sturridge they will win more games both against the weaker teams but also be performing much better against the top 5 teams (just ask United).

Liverpool's problem under Dalglish was consistency wasn't it?. One week world beaters, the next week arse dribblers. Rodgers did not seem to sort that out or make any discernible difference last season, and it remains to be seen if anything's changed. I do think they're improving though and three clean sheets is pointing to a tougher mental attitude - or a bit of luck with missed penalties...:)

I think it'll be a very tough game, but not the toughest by a long chalk. I wouldn't be surprised at any result (W,L,D) or any magnitude of goalscoring, as there are a fair few goals in both sides. Looking forward to it, whatever. It'll be a damn good test for both teams.

Would make a big difference to our chances if Sturridge is out - he's missing the England v Ukraine game so who knows.

He made a difference to it in the second half of the season, to be fair. Since losing to United on 13th January, we've only lost twice. 19 games, 11 wins, 6 draws, 2 losses. 39pts. Not idea, but better than United who have won 11, drawn 5 and lost 3, picking up 38pts. The first half of the season was poor, and you're right that there was little difference. Since then, though; quite a noticeable difference.

Of course, 19 games is only half a season. It's a big task to do it for 35 more games. We do have Suarez and Sakho to come into that squad, though. And we've already added Mignolet and Toure to it. So It's quite possible that we're going to give top four a good go this season.

Glad we got ML after Rodgers left, he has taken us a lot further and brought good players,. Rodgers is liked by the players but is punching well above his weight, be very surprised if Liverpool finish top 4.

Hmm.
I doubt whether Liverpool will have to dig in as they did for the last 30 mins of that game.
Was it our hardest so far?
Will it be our hardest of the season?
Will my grandchildren grow up in a world free of strife?
Will I exorcise my demons when I lay my head on the pillow?
Will Suarez come back and play as he did?
Will he still be anarsewipe.

Will I ever be saved...

I'll only try and answer two of those Perch.

It wasn't our hardest game of the season so far (Man U and Spurs). It won't be the hardest of the remaining games either.

It's only a gentle wind-up. We're all wrong at times mate.
