Looking at some of the comments made by supporters on this board.

I cant believe people want to accept the 'old dale' in the 'Rochdale division' etc, what planet are you on?

Who is going to pay £20 of their hard earned money supporting trash like that?

Maybe back in the Barrow days and before hand when it was £10 in but not in the modern day, I made a thread on here last week about 'not going up will ruin the club', todays attendances are evident that im right.

For those who are happy to waste their money, good luck, we will be like Hornets next.

People want promotion, good football, and a good match day experience.

Well, if there are no new fans coming in, we should all just give up and let the club go to ruin.

Tangled up in blue.

It's the issues that are irrelevant to the performance of the team that are winding me up more than anything.

For example, when Ricardo had a go at Bobby Grant for 'illegally trying to gain an advantage' at AFC Wimbledon, everyone lambasted him and took the p***. And now, cause we're not winning as regularly, everyone is having a go saying the way we play the game is wrong etc. But it didn't matter when we were winning?

Same with the whole 'Scousers' and 'Jobs for the boys' thing? Just an excuse to roll out to get on Coleman's back now that we are off form, but nobody cared when we were on form.

Just so you know, I personally don't see it as a job for the boys and nor do I think we're a dirty team.

Coleman's post match comments alienate the fans even further and this, as well his stubborn nature with regards to the formation is what will eventually be his downfall. For example, playing 442 at home v Brizzle, playing well (and winning!) only then to revert back to the old formation. These are the kinds of things that really hack the fans off and at times it feels like a middle finger to us, i.e I will play my way and I don't care what you think.

The only thing papering over the cracks (the good away form) has now disappeared and if the home results don't improve (performances are irrelevant at this stage) then I suspect you'll hear more and more Coleman out chants as the seasons progresses (not saying I agree with those either).

Everyone's had beef with beef curtain.

We're not that far off the mark price-wise. I can remember when the new main stand first opened in about 1991, it was £10 to get in. Having just been on an inflation calculator on the internet, it tells me that in today's money, £10 would be £17.90. Therefore, the ticket prices have gone up £2.10 more than inflation in the past 22 years which is nothing in the current financial climate.

You say that you don't want to pay £20 for today's quality of football. How much are you willing to pay, and as you clearly expect the price to be inflation busting, which budget would you like the club to cut the money from?

Personally, I think you will struggle to find league football for less. If you still want your football for a tenner, you are looking at Blue Square North division football.

I understand your sums etc, but the point im making is that for £20 at Rochdale we are not even watching a team, we are watching utter garbage and then Coleman comes out with ludicrous comments that make things even worse.

Where as for £15 you can watch Blackburn Rovers from the Rovers stand which is just like our Willbutts Lane stand only bigger, and watch more attractive football.

Wigan Athletic recently did a deal for adults in which you bought 2 adult tickets for the price of 1 at a cost of £20.

In some parts of Turf Moor it is only £22 see link, they also do fairly decent prices for youngsters http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/tickets/matchday_prices/

Thats just a quick search, however im sure you could find plenty more.

There's another factor at play with supporters, not just at Dale but in general. I'm feeling it, and I suspect from the comments that many others are too...

Football just doesn't mean quite as much as it used to.

The world in 2012 is a different place to 1972 (when I was a teenager), 1992 or even 2002.

Public attitudes to lots of things, including authority, have changed, and we're more inclined to challenge the "received wisdom" - and we're armed with greater knowledge and communication skills.

At The Peake and others seem to be suggesting we follow a type of "received wisdom" - that we're the Dale, we are what we are, we're supposed to be supporters who almost blindly follow the team.

Through thick and thin.

I'm sorry, but many of us have lived through eras of thin, and whilst it's a real bonus to have a home town club to support in the football league, we're not prepared to just turn up like cattle and cheer when the manager can't see the blindingly obvious in front of his face, and the board refuse to see the blindingly obvious in front of their faces.

It REALLY wouldn't take much to turn this around. An attempt to play with width, to take the game to the opposition, to make one feel optimistic about the trip to Spotland rather than the increasing sense of foreboding, would be a start.

Spot on. And off the pitch, to sack all staff who are stealing a living from the club, employ fans in key positions and start to put some love back into the club.

I refuse to contribute anymore money into these thieve's pockets, and so many of the stay-aways feel the same as me.

But, we've been here before, and the thieves and the hangers on are untouchable.

We have but he is generally correct.

Under Les and Steve W things were commercially great, really nice friendly and you got a feeling of appreciation from the club.

Often used to sit in the old portacabins having a brew and chatting with Les - Steve Walmsley actually bought me Pie and chips once - something unheard of!!!!

Commercially things continued to be good under Razz and R.W. and you always got the impression that the people organising the commercial side cared for the club and knew what they were doing.

In all honesty I dont even know who does the commercial and marketing side now, and despite the fact years back the club tended to muddle by, you always felt that your £5 to get in was appreciated and the people at the club had time for you.

Football has clearly changed but the same core beliefs should be there, thats where the club are going wrong IMHO

No, wait...... we are supposed to turn up and pay money when we are not happy bunnies? In any other business the directors would listen to their customers. That doesn't happen at dale. Its all very well looking in from a distance.

Phil Brown speaking on GMR made a great point when he said 'at any club, the manager and board need to decide what direction the club is going to go in and almost sign up to a mission statement and let the fans know the reasons why it has chosen this path'.

Hilcroft did it with their 7 year plan and pretty much delivered up to the time they left.

At the minute it seams like we are just drifting, JC and JB when they talk about 'WE' are talking about themselves, their records, nothing to do with the club. Coleman's claptrap in post match interviews causes a bigger disconnect, because its all the fans fault.

If the reason that JC/JB have signed so many of their 'mates', is that 'they are a group of players we know and will have a good team spirit and this was key after last seasons cliques', then tell us that.

If the plan is to keep this team together for a short period of time, then replace the older players with young players who we can later sell for profit, let us know.

If these players understand this system, but in January we will tweak the squad so we aren't so narrow at home, tell us!

At the minute the plan seams to be to turn us into Accy as soon as possible!

Everything thats been, has past. The answers in the looking glass!
