Hughes IN on 22:32 - Oct 6 with 1231 views | hamptonhillhoop | Since Ian holloway left QPR have only finished one season with the same manager they started it with. Most of those seasons have been disastrous. The one season we kept the same manager warnock won us the league. I'm not saying Hughes is going to achieve anything like that but some of you are so knee jerk it's unbelievable. Why would you want redknapp? Short term appointment who wouldn't play our best player. Wrecked Portsmouth and similar at west ham. Levy kept too much control of him at spurs to let that happen, but I'm sure he'd have tried. We've made our bed with Hughes, lets have a bit of patience eh?

Bang on.. There is massive panic on these boards at mo. Id be worried if we were defending like that by xmas but its early still Basically the defence lost us that game through errors.. Not hughes.. But people seem to want to chop the head off a manager as soon as things begin to go wrong, without thinking that its probably not the best idea for stability.... Its jst the way people are i suppose ( i was pssed off when warnock was sacked aswell)

I blame the errors in defence on Hughes. Everyone knew the whole unit had to be replaced with quality in particular, the centre backs and he didn't do it. That's the most frustrating thing of all, we all knew that the defence was $hit. We knew that Onuoha is cumbersome, Anton's lived off his brother's name, Hall is too old etc.. 'When are we going to get a couple of quality centre backs' was a daily discussion on this board during the transfer window.

Sure we were all screaming out for a CB in the summer but one did not become available and good ones are like rocking horse shit.. I blame the players for not playing to their potential not the manager.. Pretty sure he wanted Dawson and Samba but couldnt land them. Sure hes made some tactical errors but hardly sackable offences. Come on i know you like a mananger sacking or two, but really. How would sacking hughes help? Who would you get in ( realistically) to waive a magic wand and make things good again? Like i say the players are not doing their job. Lets hope they get their shit together soon and we get a win under our belts. Confidence will work wonders because our squad is good enough. Then we can stop this contant manager sacking merry-go-round bullshit for one season atleast

Hughes IN on 04:57 - Oct 7 with 1047 views | MelakaRanger | Yes Hughes must stay - at least for the time being. I am firmly in the "Hughes In" camp but the next 5 games are crucial. 3 at home and 2 away. With Hughes' record so far the 2 away games are as good as lost. Not being defeatist but form strongly suggests there to be no other result. We simply MUST beat Reading and Southampton at home. Ideally a point too against Everton. But loose the 2 away games and draw or lose the Reading and Southampton games and I think 99% of us "Hughes In" crowd will change our minds. I include Tony F in this. But I suspect that if by the end of the Stoke game we are still win less, Hughes will fall on his sword and resign. That would be 11 games into the season and us probably adrift at the bottom. Keep The Faith peeps. Two wins and a draw from the next 5 games could have us out of the bottom 3

Hughes IN on 20:09 - Oct 6 by Brightonhoop | The brilliance at timew has been there for all to see. I seriously doubted Hughes early on and even he has already alluded to the mistake of his comments about not being here next season at the end of last season. Twice in very recent times we've given Man City a proper scare, humbled the Scum with some of the best football I've seen at LR Bowels and Francis graced the pitch, and with a fair dose of 'bad luck' see Tottenham et al and it's a time for cool heads, not rolling over calling for Hughes head. It's a very long eason that has barely begun. A couple of wins will see us well clear and we have such better prospects than those around us. |
I'm still with Hughes in and agree with you totally.... not so much because I'm happy with whats going on, The table does not look good but we really need to hold our nerve and stick together. I'm convinced that sacking managers this early in a season is wrong full stop Turning on Hughes will create a bad atmosphere and could affect confidence in a bad way. Starting with a new manager means, new staff, new methods, the manager wanting his own players... I just cant see how it will really help in the long term. We more than most clubs should see that we need a manager for the long term. Redknapp worries the life out of me. His legagacy at clubs is poor, all he wants is more money and more players and then still moans that he hasnt enough... He also hates Adel??? We have much better players than most of the teams that are going to be in and around the bottom. We need to stick this out and hold our nerve
Hughes IN on 09:15 - Oct 7 with 991 views | Toast_R | Not that I'm calling for a sacking here but one thing I think I need to put right.... Why do a lot of people assume Redknapp wouldn't play Taarabt? Because he loaned him out to us when he was nowhere near ready for the Premiere League and no one knew if he could cut it in the Championship either (which he did but had his fair share of critics from us too along the way until NW turned up) Ridiculous to say he wouldn't play him on the back of some irrelevant history. Look at the team Redknapp assembled at Spurs after selling Taarabt, simply no need for him and he was miles behind anyone in that Spurs side so a sale was best all round. I'm sure (and he has commented on his class since) he would now see what a class act Tarbs has now become, ironically the manager who hasn't would appear to be the one currently employed by QPR, but thank f@ck the penny looks to have dropped....finally.
Hughes IN on 09:15 - Oct 7 with 990 views | wood_hoop | Usual calls for manager to be sacked after a run of poor results, did anyone really think we was going to be sitting pretty at this time of the season. Hughes has it seems made mistakes in some of his selections, these do not loose games, they just make them harder to win, but then some of the players have made serious mistakes on the pitch that have gifted goals to our opponents, these are players paid tens of thousands of pounds a week to not make schoolboy errors, yet all the blame is apportioned on the manager ? Hughes has blinkers on when it comes to SWP one of the most overrated Prem players in history let alone at our club, he alone is not the fault of our dire form, he may not help the flow of the game every time he touches the ball but there are 10 others that can,Hughes must be tearing his hair out, at Ferdinands defending at times, it cost us two goals yesterday, while others have shown they can play at this level with ease but up to now only a few have shown the abilties to play well for 90 minutes, therein lies one of the major problems, we only play well in small snatches as a team, fcuk knows why. Hughes whether taking up witchcraft or whatever other means needs to be left in place, other clubs above us do not have the same quality in their squads, it might take a little more time than was anticipated and a lot of patience from the supporters. as a postnote, I hope that Rednapp gets nowhere near our club, I'd rather Holloway back than that tax dodging crook.
