Much of the team is obvious. There are only a couple of spots that are up for discussion: CB (Hill or Onuha), wing (Hiolett or Mackie), striker (Zamora or Johnson). I would say Hill -- Onuha has done nothing wrong, but Hill was our player of the season last year for a reason. Plus he is the best captain in the team. Win -- Hilett -- we didn't buy him to sit him on the bench and Mackie is fantastic coming off the bench. S--Johnson, he seems to have the edge over Zamora on the tour.

Ufortunately Faurlin won't be fit until late Sept so we can't select him for the first game of the season. Without him and Barton and because Derry is certainly getting older and apparently not fit/able to play yet I believe our squad is a little too thin on central midfielders. This is why I think we need to add to our squad in this position (with hopefully Ki from Celtic) and not another forward (like Bellamy). | | | |

I would choose Faurlin over Park pairing Diakitè in a holding midfield tbh. Park has niggling injury problems, tends not to play every game.

A bit lost here. Don't entirely understand why it's a choice between Hill and Onouha? Surely the debate is Ferdinand or Traore? Hill was Player of the Year, Traore at times was a defensive liability.
